Hay there,
me asking another noob :dork: question

-Description:

I would like to make a large map with fairly detailed height map, but i have tried just using a large number of slices but the number of triangles (polygons) becomes too great that the fps of the game are reduced drastically.

-Question:

Is there any way of using the Brush mipping feature in the Serious Editor to make the ground made by the Terrain feature so that there is more triangles (polygons) where the player is standing and mot so manny where the player is not (ie: neer the horision) if the terrain is all one entity?

or does the Serious Editor not have the capibality to preform this task?

I don't think so.

Happy Homo, he's asking if one brush can have part of it mipped when you're still near another part of it.

I believe LSD investigated using multiple terrains within a world, and employing mipping on each of them individually. I gather that it is doable, but fairly complex and demanding. Probably worth investigating alternatives. Try searching for posts by LSD and Mr Luc.

AFAIK, the answer is no. You can split the brush to several pieces, though.

Try this (http://www.3dactionplanet.com/serioussam/tutorials/terrainmipping.shtml)

Though I've never tried it myself yet...
