I am having trouble making a new skybox. All I wanted to do is make a bigger version of the orbital skybox. Well, I made the skybox with the textures perfectly aligned and all. Then I went to hide the seams with the UV clamp and all the textures except the floor texture turned really smeary and you couldn't even tell that it was once the orbital picture. What am I doing wrong? Or is there a different, better way to create a new skybox?

Why do you need a bigger one anyway? The level doesnt go in the skybox, if thats what youre doing. You set the outer walls of your level to portal and put a backround viewer in the middle of the skybox.

Clamp UV cuts out the tiles of the texture, leaving you with only one. Press ctrl + K, then ctrl + shift + k. This automatically aligns the texture.

And yeah, you dont need a bigger skybox. Skyboxes are infinite, no matter what the size is.

Actually, there is one reason to make a bigger one, and that's if you're planning on putting lots of architecture into it for your background. If you were making a city, say, and you wanted to be surrounded with skyscrapers, you would have a good reason to. It's easier to just make a bigger box and correctly scaled buildings than to shrink them all down. Of course, if it were too big, I suppose you might get the earthquaking problem.
