Anyone remember the Doom2 remake map. Did that get into trouble because of the textures or the geometry?

Cuz i desperately wanna remake Q3DM17, well actually i'm 3/4 of the way thru it. But if i am to release it i want it to be legally ok.

If its not I will start doing the modifications to it so that its my interlectual property just stimulated by Q3DM17.

Thanks in advance

U can remake the level architecture, but not use id's textures or models, or anything that id has done for any of their games. However, you still could also remake all the textures... ;) if you can prove you make them from scratch and not just copy 'n paste. Same goes for models.

Actually you can get into trouble for both the architecture and the textures. If Id see your map, then the ruling would be whether or not ur map as a whole broke their interlectual copyright, regardless of how this copyright was broken. If you keep hush husgh about it then the map will still have a future, but dont expect seriously! to stock the map.

we will not post remakes.
