I've been trying to make a sky-only, not terrain skybox for my map using Terragen. After about 30 min of effort, I've come to the conclusion that is is impossible with Terragen. Unless someone can show me it is possible. I would greatly appreciate it if someone that has Bryce skills to make me a simple sky-only skybox. Just want it to be in the daytime, and at least some clouds. Thank you for your time, for someone that does this, your name will go in the credits.

Using Terragen:

On the render screen, there are two tick boxes just below the preview render i think. One is labelled sky the other terrain. Uncheck the terrain one and only the sky will be rendered.

/me listens to sound of you kicking yourself! ;)

No, I didn't kick myself :P. Cause even when you do do that (I tried it before you mentioned that), you still get a black hole. no matter how high you go, whatever, you always get a black hole at the bottom. So my only solution is to get it a different method. I don't know if Bryce also creates skies, but it would be extremely helpful, but I am also in no rush to get the skybox :P.

Just fill the black viod with blue after the render. You can even do that in paint!:D The clone tool in photoshop works better, though.

I guess that will work for now, but my photoshoping skills are limited, I'll just make sure no clouds are at the bottom :P.

Cant u just move the background viewer upwards so it level with the bottom of the sky?

this will work fine unless you are trying to do a map needing downwards view like a floating platform in the sky, but you would have told us this important info right?

yeah, I figured it out, It looks a little unusual though, since the sun seems a lot closer, but it works fine. Thanks for the info :P.

Im going to guess you are looking at only one texture. I also have Bryce, and have not found a way to get a skyscape into Sam. I am pretty experienced with Bryce, considering I have done almost 50 TV commercials with effects rendered in Bryce. From what I have read, Bryces cameras and angles are faked so any attempt to render a full skybox (unless photoshop'd) in wont result in any success. I could be wrong, but I havent found a way to do it. So for now, you're going to be stuck with Terragen. The biggest "trick" in using terragen to get textures for Sam background is to Make SURE that your camera is set to Zoom at 1.0, not the 1.414 or whatever it is by default. Also, numericly position your camera so you do some views at 0degrees, 90, 180, and 270. Dont forget the top
