linking a damager to a touchfield

I know someone had a tutorial for this somewhere but I can't find it. can someone help me out or tell me what I'm not doing right, I've messed with it and messed with it and it hasn't worked yet.

Simple. Select your touchfield. Then go to "Enter target" and choose your damager.
