hello
i want to create a map with a tornado inside.
i used the smoke particle effect but he has a size of 20centimeters i guess and you cant change the size of it.
so i put it in the skybox. when it is in the middle the youre always inside the tornado when you play the map, because of the skybox effect that it always keeps the same difference to the player. so i put it a bit to the left.
now it still keeps the same difference to the player and that looks like the twister follows you. that sounds cool that it follows you, but believe me, it looks stupid. just try it out. so does someone of you have an idea how i can make a tornado inside the map(not skybox) which is a bit bigger than the 20centimeter smoke particle???

there is a model in /models/enemies/elemental called twister.
it is hollow so you can see from inside it.
simply use a MH to put this on and stretch all
u will have to add the texture

I don't want to sound rude, but please, no languages other than English, at least in the Mapping Forum. Or I'll get my bastard-moderator-from-hell-mode on.

addman, that's otherwise good, but then the discussion isn't mapping-related, and thus belongs to some other forum.

earthling youre right, but the tornado discussion was finished and then someone asked me if i am german so i answered.
by the way, i dont like the twister model, i want the smoke particle. do you know if i can stop the skybox following me or where i can change the smoke paticle size. is it possible in the modeler? in the serious editor i tried but there is no possibility
the smoke is immutably, unchangeably, irresistably small. Sorry.

really??
what about placing some MODELHOLDERS with the LIGHT model you can find in the .../models dir
and creating a texture that fits the model?
-----
sorry, earthling, but this IS mapping-related

Hi hammerhai, greetings from America.
I thought of the tornado too. Then decided that an earthquake would work better for what I needed.
If ya want, I'll send ya a small earthquake map.

With regard to the problem "the smoke is immutably, unchangeably, irresistably small", perhaps someone who has attempted to work with this and who can provide sufficient context and discussion of the problem can post a report to bugs@croteam.com? Croteam is apparently very very busy right now, but they do give a damn and do pay attention to bug reports.
