Anyone found a way to create moving pockets of gravity? Sectors within MovingBrushes can't be assigned force markers, and parenting normal WorldBases to movingbrushes hasn't worked either.
So much for moving spaceships with their own gravity..

This sounds very familiar to the question I have. I'm also wondering if there is a sector that is both invisible and untouchable; simply for the purpose of designating an area with adverse properties.

The latter sgould be possible. The former, I dunno.
Sorry, but from my knowledge, moving pockets of gravity are impossible to make :( But, you can make invisible and untouchable sectors. Just make a solid primitive in desired shape, choose the place and remove it from world :)

Actually, it is possible. I put together a little map in which a sector is attatched to a harpy, along with a central gravity type. The result is rather amusing, but not something you'd want to use in a map, I don't think. It's rather hackish, and more of a novelty then anything else. Ftp access to geocities isn't cooperating with me at the moment, so let me know if you're interested and I'll e-mail the file. It's only 27k.

Yes I heard about that on another forum (I think), but the question is not moving gravity source->stationary sector but moving/nonmoving gravity source->MOVING sector

I know. I attached a sector to the Harpy too ;)
I created a hollow sphere and Added it as its own WorldBase, flagged all the polys as portal, passable, and link, set its parent to a Harpy, and then set up a gravity router that starts off with spherical gravity around the harpy and switches to regular when it dies.

Oh!! I think I forgot to set those specific poly properties then.
Time to try this... heh heh

This thread came up on a search I was doing.
Does anyone else find this option unbearably cool? :)

Hmmmmm.
Actually, if a Gnaar had a gravity well, he might actually be a dangerous enemy.
And with those harpies -- is the gravity strong enough to fling me into the air if they dive at me? That would be so cool.

I made a test level with it.
here it is: do Save As, then rename it to a Zip file, then just unzip it and open it in the editor.

Hey man for some reason I can't download that test level. If it's small enough, could you send it to my email? mr_luc77@yahoo.com
