i have attached a link to an image of what i want to know.  the red square is the "player".  the blue boxes are "buildings" or whatever like that.  the gray boxes represent the distance between the "buildings".  now my question is ... in the editor, can you map it to where the actual map in the editor is small, but "program" it in the editor to say that the distance (the grey area) be half a mile or whatever like that?  or is it that in the editor you actually have to make it a long distance inbetween the buildings?  now i'm asking this question because i know that in ss you can make it seem like you can walk forever.  how is it that it makes it look like you can walk "forever"?

not heard of anyway to do this, or that u can make it seem like ur walking forever: on the levels ive been on u can walk for a longway, but then the desert heat kills u b4 u get to the edge of the map!

in position tab, play around. The effect of walking forever, is made my making a large map. They can be like 4096, and it will be a loong walk...

Yes. The map seems large because it is large.

You can make it 10,000 x 10,000 meters if you want.
Don't know how it will run though. ;)

I made a terrain sized 65536 x 65536, and it ran just fine.

can the height be as "long" as the width?

Of course.
