1. Press the create conus primitive button.

2. Set base vtx to 2, and uncheck the Outer and Room flags.

Now you should have a flat sheet. You can use this for water falls and other stuff.

If you have any questions about this method, ask me.

Why not just set the height to 0?

That's the 2nd way.
You can do things in many ways with SED.

Hmm... my way seems to have more control, than the 0 height way. You can scale the sheet in top view, with shift+control, using my way.

That's cool, but I like my waterfalls to be solid water all of the way through.

I am trying to use that for alpha textures ala windows... and getting some problems. Will still screw with it tho.

(EDIT: Works now... I had to check Don't Cast and now it seems to work fine.. thanks man, that is a great, great trick...)
(EDIT 2: Nope... didn't work... if anyone get's this please let me know. I have one texture that is UV Clamped and Reflective with very low Alpha and set to Shade and a Alpha Texture as Texture 2 and no go... any ideas?)

Did that... that is why I am confused. I have made lots of alpha transparencies but this would help me considerably.

Akuma: Did as you said, and with a little tweaking i got it to work just fine. *Is this what you thought about? (http://cultact.interact.dk/kpo/windowtest.wld) * (I also put on a detail texture - flipped the second layer on the other side)

No go even after I copied it into the Sam root dir... sorry. Gives me an error on not being in the right place even though it is in the exacty same place specified. One odd thing, it calls C:\Games\Croteam\Serious Sam (my dir) saying it can't find it in C:\Games\Croteam\Seriou~1 (the dir it is looking for... oddly that is MSDOS directory structure for the ~1 part.)

Any ideas?

The 0 height technique i've found to be very useful for making antennae, wires, and other such details. Great stuff.
