It just totaly bombed when i first made it, realy horrible looking. worked on it today though and got it to its present semi-respectable level.

columns, my left to right:
brown thing is too blurry, it could be much more detailed, and the edges are too obvious. It looks like a brown paper bag. The tiling will be bad, because of the upper right hand corening, that shows repeating to strong.
very cartoony, the middle sections and the bricks are in too different artistic styles. the outline bricks are cartoon, and the inside is more realistic. There is no transition between the two either, it's just a solid black line. The bevel lines are just too basic for highlights, but works nicely. The black outline makes it well too cartoony and there is no lighting to show the bricks stand out above the background. The cylindrical gradient on the center part should be reduced.
The cobble stones? I kinda like, but the black outline is too strong, or the bricks themselves need to have highlights to compliment the strong black edges. The granite/marble texture overlay is pretty good.
The metal panels are nice, but this is just an outline, what about some detail and highlights? If you were to emboss this texture and overlay a rust, it'd be hot!
background texture is just a grid, can't really say much about that.
Floor, I dunno what this is, is it grass or slime? either way it has plus signs on it and looks like a ground texture for Super Mario Bros. Not sure what to say about this.

very nice joben. i dig the change in the bricks from the orange posted above to the gold in the picture just a post or two up... very nice.

crits to that texture: the drop shadow from the bricks should come down as opposed to being directly centered under the bricks. Additionally, it's a bit strong. How about overlaying some texture effects tot he brick itself.
And finally, the background has a horizontal line that is darker than the rest, which shows the tile, probably stronger than you want.
Otherwise, this texture is a bit improvement on the previous version.

well they do look ok, but they suffer from the classic plastic look :(if you've seen his enemy skin work, i take it the point is very simple and colorful textures to compliment the cartooney skins.

Looking fine there Joben, the latter example is far better than the first, the orange bricks of the first one stood out a little too much, and the later tweaks still retain the cartoony feel without becoming realistic. Matches your skins real fine. The cobble pattern looks remarkable like my early attemps at such as was seen in my alien temple set, the only problem is mine ain't improving ;)
