View Full Version : My cars new body kit....

As i hope to get a nice paying job in the very near future i plan to mod my car, although little things have been done this is its first big mod.
It won't be in yellow but red, as its the current colour of the car, oh and some 6x9's, sub and an amp will be fitted accordingly.
Heres a picture of the kit i'm getting:

not sure really, there is one on the hood aswell so it may just be for show and i don't think it comes with the kit
See, I know this is a joke. It's just gotta be a joke.
God please let this be a joke.

Why would you put an intake on the roof for show, or do any of that stuff to a car for show? That money could be used to really help the performance of the engine. Hell, you could probably get your engine bored out a bit for the kind of money it would take to do all that body work.
Manicsubsidal
01-15-2004, 08:32 PM
i would do the engine but my insurance would rise way more than i would like, this type of mod is cheaper in the insurance in the long run

Whatever floats your boat, I guess. Be warned, a loud stereo WILL piss people off. People will key your car, let the air out of your tires and any number of other things if you blast your stereo.
Edit: I agree with EpShot here. Something unique like a custom paint job would be much more impressive, imnsho. Still, it's your car and my opinion might not be the same as the people you actually deal with on a daily basis. Just so you know, a signifigant percentage of the population laughs their asses off when they see a ricer. People respect substance in the long run, not style.

just part of owning a car i guess, need to fit an alarm once i get that fitted too
Epshot: i already have a cd player fitted and i plan to fit a nice system before or after i get the kit fitted

I own a car. It isn't modded and it has the factory stereo system. My car has never been keyed or violated in any way. I don't even have an alarm system.

Don't waste your money on an alarm (or on the kit for that matter). No one pays any attention to car alarms anymore. In fact, I despise the damn things so much, I would probably smile if I saw someone jacking a car with an alarm going off. An NRA sticker on your window is more effective, and much cheaper :P
Come on people. This has to be a joke. He's joking.

Rofl, with the shape of the back, the size of the pipes, and that wing... looks like you intend to fly your way out of rush-hour traffic?
Do some performance mods before you touch the body... putting a body kit on a stock car does have a name, 'rice'.

Thats officially the ugliest thing I have EVER seen for a car. Please do not go with that thing if this is for real. Do engine like everyone else says. Nobody likes a "ricer."
EDIT: Now that I look at it, those muffler tips ar rediculous!!! Are those off a semi or something? MY GOD!!!

Man, you MUST have known better than to post that here.
Screw modding that damn Festiva, sell it and go get yourself a nice car and keep it stock (maybe add new wheels), you'll get more respect having something decent and near-stock than a piece of trash with a body kit...hell you know what, just keep the damn Festiva, but don't add that POS to it.
You wanna know how much my dad's stock 87 Porsche 944S cost? $4K. Yep, $4K for a freaking Porsche (not the most powerful thing in the world with V4 and 190hp but still...), if you dont mind driving a stick. And yeah, insurance, but you can still find plenty of nice cars (sedans) for about the worth of your Festiva + that god damn awful bloody pile of plastic shit.
I dont even have a car (yet, muwahah;) not sure what im' buying yet), but even I know I would find my ass on the ground driving around an ugly rice box like that.
Take the money you'd spend modding that god damn thing to make it look like a f**king transformer, and either keep it stock or buy something DECENT (and maybe add new wheels if you want)

Usually when you see this kind of car on the road the driver is zippin' around and changing lanes abruptly without signal, likes they're in a race.

Much better, manic. Well, sort of.
Festivas are grocery getters, that's ****ing it. They're not bad if you just need something to get you around semi-reliably, but it seems you want something "cool".
My advice is sell/give away the damn Festiva (while you can, since the body kit will make its max market value about $10), and you can probably find something if you look hard enough that will GET YOU COMPLIMENTS or at least something that does not look like a flaming pile of ass-fat.
Sorry bud but a car like that, while for some ****ed up reason you think it's cool now, I guarantee soon you'll be bored with it. It will get you keyed, laughed at, and will certainly not get you laid. I have a job at a food store, I was getting in carts and saw this guy in an Eclipse...who thinks he's all badass because he has a red Eclipse, with gray duct tape on his trunk, and a yellow vacuum cleaner body kit, a spoiler taller than my cock, and some engine mod that makes it sound like he's racing when he goes 20 through a freaking parking lot. Would have keyed the damn thing like I have before to stupid riced Civics/Accords/Stangs (yeah, major rice material here)/Eclipses/etc but he walked back just as I was about to. Lucky guy. :P
Sorry, I just think it's a POS, and you WILL be laughed at, even if you dont know it.

Anyone ever heard of AMERICAN MUSCLE, Jesus, theres a real car. No need for a body kit because they already look cool stock. The engines stock are faster than a ricer will ever be able to obtain. And they are WAAAY cheaper.
Don't tell me about gas mileage and high insurance, who cares.
Gas mileage and high insurance are two pretty major issues with muscle cars...not to mention the interior usually sucks ass. But they are pretty awesome to have...:D

that depends..
my dad's 1967 camaro got 16 MPG highway.. it's pretty much stock.. I'm sure it could get better, too. Insurance is less than 100$ a YEAR. Of course, it's under some 'Classic Car' insurance policy, or something. which has some limits as in how much it can be driven, and it has to be garage-kept or something. but that's fine

I'm not sure what he said either. As for the car, it looks like a golf cart with doors. Just because you put a pretty girl beside a car, doesn't make the car hot. Similarly, just because you put a scoop on the hood and a spoiler on the back, doesn't improve your car's performance. It just makes you look like a dork.

This car is the shit....literaly, it's smells it's so shity. Those civic hatchback type shit mobiles, owners who do that should be shot.
:) car kits have been around for a long time heck I started out as a motor head in the the early 60's,if it had wheels and rumbled it was a canidate for a kit.
visers for windshields crome visers foe head lights, bullet bumpers, crome air and oil filters, dashboard kits hell it was all ther then so I can see the appeal.
Now concerning some of those kits.
I would rather carve a mold and spay gel coat to do my own custom work than buy a kit like the one in that pic,...that sucks warthog tit.
Besides I drive a truck, does the work I need it to do and that old 6 gets good tork and gas mileage:)except pulling uphill with a 2ton load, but it pulls smooth.

ALL MUSTANG OWNERS : Your car is NOT fast. If fact your car is quite crappy.
Well, thats not exactly fair. Or true. Base v6 mustangs arent particuarly fast, but they are faster than the average car around thier pricerange (about 15000 after rebates and stuff). Mustang GTs or above all come with a fairly powerful v8 and can do 0-60 in under 6. The cobra (top of the line model) has a supercharged v8 and can do 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds. So some mustangs are very fast indeed. However there are plenty of people who drive a v6 mustang who think they have a really fast car, and they dont.
MasterEvilAce
01-18-2004, 01:16 AM
****. The Cobra is supposed to compete with the Corvette.. I REALLY don't consider it a Mustang. I consider it a "Hey, let's not spend tons of money on a new car to compete with the corvette.. let's just make another MUSTANG.. and call it a COBRA.. . the name "MUSTANG" will sell ITSELF!!!! "
Heh.
Tessai

Around here, pretty much the only mustang drivers are:
Base model, either Teal, Red, or White: Young blonde girls
Mustang GT in blue or yellow: Hispanic guy
Mustang GT in silver: Blonde woman with mid-life crisis.
This applies to the current generation available at dealerships. Older mustangs differ. This also applies to about 75% of the mustangs I see on the road... but I have been wrong.
For example, a base model red mustang was driven by an older guy in a cowboy hat today, his son in the passenger seat.

Its a word I made up that is what you call someone who passes their driving license, wants a flash sports car, cant afford one, so gets a 15 year old vauxhall nova or peugeot 205 that is 1 m.o.t away from the scrapyard, adds alloy wheels, A BODY KIT, and an exhaust tail pipe that beats out a base note so low it causes an unscheduled bowel movement to everyone within 300 metres
