Yeah I know SS comes with a Serious Modeler, but I wanted to know if I can take any of the Serious Sam player/enemy models and expoprt/view them in 3d studio Max. :)
Like if I wanted to take the 'female gnarr' model, for example, and open it up in 3d Max and place it in a 3d scene, how would I do that?
I know you can import a .3DS file into the Serious Modeler, but can I export to .3DS or .MAX format so I can open up the SS models in 3D Studio Max?
If so, how? I read through the help files, but maybe I overlooked something. :(
Thanks in advance.

You cant export anything from Serious Modeler, unless someone makes .mdl importer for Max.
If you want .3ds files email me and ill see what i can do.

It would be nice to be able to decompile the models.
I dont know the first thing about writing an import plug-in, but a friend of mine writes commercial plug-ins for 3d Studio MAX. Maybe with some extra info I could get him to make it for us.

I hope someone can make a .mdl importer for Max.
Try to bribe your friend, Payback. :)
It would be cool to be able to use any of the models I try to make in Serious Modeler and also use the same files in 3DS Max.

If someone from Croteam can email (oblivionsp@hotmail.com, my other email is down) me the MDL format I can prolly write a decompiler for the format.

I hope this would be possible, but you will definetly loose a lot of information saved in .mdl file (better to port Serious Modeler as plugin for Max).
If you guys( and girls if any) need source files for models, i will make compilation and put it online, .3ds, .lwo and .obj enough of formats ?

and maybe a .ma or .mb for Maya?
