Hi everyone,
I know everyone says the sizes in SEd are in metres. This would mean Sam is 2 metres tall, which ofcourse is possible. But someone who can jump on ledges of 3.5 metres??? I mean, a room of 64 square metres is just.. small. There is just something very wrong with this... Maybe Croteam has metres which are quite small.
first, if u want realistic, ss is the wrong choice, since wide open areas are THE quality of ss (it has also a strong connection with the engine used). thats my opinion! i used (use) editor for architectural purpose and you cant really work with sizes...

I mean, a room of 64 square metres is just.. small.Clever people have explained that before. T'is something to do with the angle of view in a game compared to Real Life (TM).
Maybe Croteam has metres which are quite small. :think:This is correct since light moves faster near to the equator.

I agree.
The sizes in SS are seriously wrong if measured in metres.

I agree, unfortunately wide open areas aren't part of my quality. Those ****ing topmaps :swear:. Still, I think it's quite stupid those metres are so small. Some time ago, I was making my house in SEd. When I was testing it out, I couldn't even walk through a door. That was quite a waste of time.

Gotta use the "mirror and stretch entire world" feature then.

It´s useful sometimes, but it might do a situation that a big area is medium sized and a door is too small.
But how does it work, does stretch all world bases in the level or do you need to select the world base that you want to stretch?
The name does say it but I´m not entirely sure.
im not sure to, does this function exsits? and another thing: try to work with LIGHTWAVE, if u want to build your house and import it into editor (in LW you CAN strech...)

Fiendan, how about just trying it? it doesn't even take two minutes to check.
It stretches nearly everything, also model holders and other stuff.
db, just right click in the world and select it.
Unfortunately, you can only stretch everything in total.

They should had included "Stretch selected entity".

@ --Fragman--: I could use "mirror and stretch entire world", but I think my house will be mirorred then.
@ db: I could use LW, but my moddeling skills suck very very bad...

It won't be mirrored, only if you click the option to do that.

Yes, I saw that. It's big enough now. I really had to make 3 times as big and it still looks small :eek2:

Has anyone noticed that in 1st person view, everything looks so small, but in 3rd person Sam is just 1/5 of a door in Karnak.

Yeah, I think it has something to do with the point of view, because... uhm... whatever.
