Nice. One thing: You'd really get a lot more ideas posts on your boards if you removed the requirement to register first. I came up with a few things, but couldn't be bothered registering for another board to write 'em up.

I actually then tried to reigister in order to say that, but the boards ate my username and didn't send me as pasword, so... :)

i know you prolly get this all the time, but: are you doing 2fort5? if you do, make it more like the original and LESS like the quake 3 version

some other notable maps include:
1on1r
border1 (this one's real fun)
bam4
qdeth3

I lok forward to playing it! good luck!

The only conversions we've considered thus far are the maps "2Fort" and "Well", based upon their TFC counterparts. I don't know exactly which 2Fort that corresponds to in QuakeTF (2fort4? 2fort5? I think it's one of those). We figure that A) those are the most recognizable maps from TF and TFC, allowing easy first-time playability, and B) they are allowing us to explore the editor, and also allow a good map base to start balancing the game. To be honest, I don't think any of our mod team has played Q3 more than just the Test version.

As for the forums, you need to make sure you deal with the 'ad info' pages before they'll send you an email, EVEN IF you it says the email has been sent already and your account is created! This is one of the things I dislike about EZboard the most (as I've had many a trouble with it with my own usernames and messed up mail servers), but I personally don't know how it works, as far as registering to post. Entroper, any thoughts?

Yes, the registration for EZBoard is annoying, and I realize we'll lose potential members because of it.  But, once you've registered for an EZBoard account anywhere, if you make it global, you can use it on any EZBoard message board.  They'll send you to that page that says thanks, your account has been created, would you please look at the following possible advertisements before we send you your registration, etc.  You have to read closely, but it DOES tell you that you won't be signed up until you choose which ads you want to receive.  And you can choose none at all.  Assuming it was easier to register, why shouldn't you have to register?  If you register, people know who you are, how many times you've posted, and what kinds of things go into your posts.  Yeah, I realize you can keep using the same username without registering, but then so can anyone else.  And then there's no way to control someone who wants to make everyone else's life difficult.  We'd rather spend our free time working to make this mod better than managing our messageboards.  EZBoard has a pretty cool interface, but yeah, its registration sucks.  We've looked at a few alternatives, but haven't decided anything yet.  Rest assured we'll move away from it eventually.

Yeah, Bwian's working on a 2fort conversion, and I'm doing well.  That is, I'm doing the "well" map.  I'm doing well too, thanks for asking.  :)  The maps are coming along very well (there's that word again), and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised by how they've come through.  Screenshots will be up shortly on our webpage.  The 2fort conversion is mostly sticking to the version from TFC, as it's the "classic pure CTF" fortress map, while the well conversion has a few interesting tweaks, though none that will greatly impact how the map plays.  Those are the only straight conversions we plan to do.  We may make a "canalzone3", in honor of cz and cz2, but it won't be a conversion of either map.  If someone wants to do a conversion of any map, go for it!  We'll have tutorials on "How to use Serious Editor with Serious Fortress", and you can make most of your map before you even get the mod, so if you've got good ideas, go ahead and get started.  :)  We may ask authors' permission to use maps that we really like in future releases, but even if your map isn't in a release, it may find its way to our maps section.

border1... is that that Taco Bell map?  That was funny as hell, but probably not serious enough of a map to include in a release.  Good one for the maps section though if someone makes it.  :)

Thanks guys for your support.  I really hope the registration doesn't turn off too many users, as we'd love to see your ideas and answer your questions on our forums.

You guys need modellers eh?  Well I'm a newbie in that department, but as soon as I get Lightwave, I'll might go for it.  I have Blender right now (a free prog) and made a blowtorch in it that might be useful (for the Engineer).  Unfortunately, I don't think you can make models for Sam with it.
