I keep thinking about a mod for this engine.  Call it something like Serious Super Hero's.  Two types good and bad.  The gameplay would be like a tactical combat (i.e. counterstrike, etc.).  Good guys have to save hostages, rescue Mayor, get Uranium.. well, you get the idea.
There would be about 6 different types of player on each team.
Using SS engine features, you could have someone that is highly reflective and hard to see.  a strong slow char., a really fast char., a hawkman flying char, someone that can climb walls.  Each would be balanced with speed and armor levels.
You could also have chars with inherent weapons.  Laser beams, blinding light, minigun.
The models could be very vibrant a comic-bookish with this engine.
You could have weapons that can be picked up or purchased to further customize.
I think you could balance the teams well enough that you would have to work together to win
I have never seen this tried in a mod, but it seems logical.  Especially with the character of the Serious
Engine.

What do you think?

Or not.  Anyone have any ideas on this?  Does it suck?

Sounds interesting.. Some pretty good ideas. :)

I wonder if the Serious engine can do cel-renderings (like the characters in Jet Set Radio for the DC).
That way your mod idea would look real cartoony.  :)

hmmm
sounds pretty crazy
sorta TFC meets DC/Marvel comics eh?

if its implemented right i could see it happening
everyone seems to be on their "real life tactical" phase right now tho

You could definately give it a Tac Ops feel if you wanted.  I think it would stress team work even more than the "Real world" games.  You could do some really cool stuff with balancing characters.
I've thought about point attributes that could be scaled for characters to increase customization.  Similiar to an RPG, though not nearly as complicated.  This may be too difficult though.
characters woudl have equal counterparts on the good and bad sides.  Just different skins, colors, etc.  To set them apart.
I am getting pretty good with the map editor.  I unfortunately do not have any programming skills.
My girlfriend in a very experienced Progress and VB programmer (9yr).  She is also pretty good with some forms of scripting.  How difficult would it be to learn the Serious SDK for someone with this type of experience?  If I could convince her.  Haha.
