Question from a newbie

I downloaded the SDK, and it says to follow the instructions included in the SDK help on the full version. Where are these instructions?? Also, is there any special way to load the source into Visual C++? There are no workspaces that I could see. And finally, the Serious editor, and serious modeler give me errors when I try to start them up. any ideas?
