First up, the sniper rifle, weighing in at a light 620 triangles. Seeing as it was made for Half-Life, the unseen faces were removed.

And in the blue corner, the minigun, weighing in at a hefty 1218 triangles.

Well, here are my models. Could you help me out on what needs to be fixed/improved? Thanks.

textures would probably help :) heh but they look pretty good, any chance of making the minigun fire rockets at the rate it fires bullets, just for something amusing :)

What you should do it sign-up at Barrysworld (http://www.barrysworld.com/newbie/joining.asp). It's a great site and seems to load fast all the time. Also you can link to the pictures here and it will display them.

Sweet! Barrysworld really works great, thanks SmithBoy!
Anyway, here are some pictures of the skinned minigun. It's not final (any suggestions would be appreciated) And I'm thinking of giving the body a specular texture to appear nice and shiny.

ClickerClicker: Most miniguns work that way. You don't pull a trigger, but you press a button. Gives it a bit more stability or something.

LOL
Thanks guys.
GeeBee20: It isn't for a mod, I'm just getting into Serious Sam modelling. For now, I'm planning on making it a minigun replacement (original, huh ;)

An impressive replacement for the original minigun. Is someone working on a sniper code?

BirddoG: Nope, it isn't the same. If you look at Croteam's model, the handle is completely different, along with the body. Mine is a bit more squared off, whilst Croteams is smooth.
And about the sniper rifle:
I'm taking a small break from skinning and modelling for a bit because I'm eager to play with all the toys the serious engine offers, like the editor.
Peace out,
RatBoy

I made the regular Sam minigun fire rockets at minigun rate by modding the code a little bit. It was insane! one problem though. if you fired in a strait line towards a wall, the rockets were so close together that when the first one exploded, they all exploded, thus killing me instantly!

Is it just me, or is the guy that named this type of weapons get it somewhat backwards? Unless, it really is a 'minigun' in which case I really want to see the 'fullsizegun'!

Nice job on the model, RatBoy. What did you use to create it? 3ds?

I built the models in milkshape (because it was faster) and I rendered the picture at my friends house with MAX.
