Hi, I sort of am having great difficulty with getting paint shop pro to make files with transparent parts as textures that I can put in a map

What I do is:
Make the texture, add the alpha channel
save the tga file
convert the tga file to a texture keeping 32 bit colour

but after I do all this, the final texture does not have any transparent patches in it.
Could someone please help me out, or do I jsut have to get photoshop

What does the texture look like? Your texture with black where it should be transparent?

Did you play with the blending modes in the texture properties?

I think I have jsut stuffed up some where in the alpha texture part ... the image is supposed to look like leaves or atleast patches of green with transparent parts but it jsut ends up looking like green spots with white background ... i dont know maybe it's jsut paint shop not working correctly with the user ... ...

Open your image up in paint shop pro after you've saved it and see if the alpha channel is still there.

I think it is jsut noobie mapper me ... :dork: ... not knowing exactly how to get transparent (alpha) textures to work ... it would be nice if there was a tutorial for such things ...

Was it the step where you have to "save to alpha channel?"

That one stumped me for about a week.
