To make destruction like this I use 2 models. One is normal door used for interaction with player (opening/closing, collision) and the other one is simplified version divided into pieces that I simulated physics on in blender.
When door is destroyed normal model becomes invisible and the second one instantly replaces it. Add some FX markers for dust and breaking sounds. Done.

This method allows you to "fake" basically any physics related animation. It's the same metod I used for making ragdolls before.
