A preliminary patch for the demo, which should fix the issues caused by the quickfix, and some additional ones is here:

    http://files.seriouszone.com/download.php?fileid=1065

For this one to work in network, both client and server need to upgrade.

Please reply to this thread whether this one works or not. Thanks,

    Alen

P.S. The list of changes is below:

    * Customize keys menu screen is now more mouse friendly.
    * Mouse movement is ignored during key binding process (customize keys menu screen).
    * Mouse buttons 4 and 5 are now supported (through the customize keys menu screen).
    * Cheats button will no more appear on the main menu screen when the user is advised to adjust video settings for the first time.
    * Questionable picture has been removed from the multiplayer menu screen.
    * Virtual keyboard has been removed from the enter text (enter name) menu screen.
    * If a profile is created after clicking on the 'Internet' button, the user is now correctly taken to the GameSpy menu screen.
    * Quick saved game will now appear at the top of the saved games list (both for load and save game menu screens).
    * Fixed problems with connecting to game servers over the internet.
    * Internet server sorting now works correctly (through the 'Find match' menu screen).
    * Popup menus used to enter server IP address now have button bars at the bottom to provide mouse functionality.
    * Selected row in a list doesn't change any more if mouse is moved over the list while a popup menu is displayed.

Exellent work, everything works as it should! Tested it today, and i'm glad to see the annoying keyboard thing removed. Online games seem somehow more stable too.

I have not been able to find a server yet running the new patch, but it is running better and making a nice attempt to connect Awesome Job !!

PS My graphics problem disappeared when I disabled the in game Antialiasing. Not sure why that is though, when my video card supports it. Will add this to my other thread.

    Arach's COOP v2+

Hope it brings more JOY to the COOP! (I couldn't care less about the keys - you do it once, and it's done, plus, we'll be able to play with the INI files, right??)

damn. I hope this is just a port of some sort from the final (gold) version, that Alen did for the junkies here... so we stop whining

Wait, just noticed the server listing still is "console-like". You can't select them with the mouse - unintuitively, clicking the mouse activates which server is highlighted, and you can only choose servers with the arrow keys or mousewheel.

That part still needs to be addressed.

Nope. They still didn't address the issue of you being able to pick up health and ammo even when you're full on them. It's not much of an issue in the demo's short gameplay but it could be a real hassle if not fixed in the full game

you cant pick up health when you have 200 though right?
if you pick up HP when you have 100 itll just add up and gradually go down

    Hi guys!

First of all , thanks for your support. You've been great!

I'd like to ask you for a bit (more) help. We've seen some situations where a patched server rejected a patched client with the 'version mismatch' message. We've been unable to reproduce this when both client and server are here at Croteam, but have seen it when trying to connect to some internet servers. I've started a server (session name is 'Croteam Test'), and would be gratefull is some of you would try to join the game.

    Cheers,

    Goran.

    Hi!

Just tried to connect to Croteam Test server right now (with patched demo of course) and got the version mismatch error.
Played yesterday on 2 servers and it worked. Hope you figure it out. See attached the last part of my demo logfile.

either my patch didn't install right, or all the servers I found were on an old version, I kept getting the "game session is no longer available error"

my sound still messes up with my SB live, i turned the max number of sounds to 10 and it still cracked and stuff when i used the weapons. I also just updated my drivers and stuff so i dunno why it's not working correctly. If it's gonna keep doin it, should I even bother buying the game?

SB problems here too. Not always, but from time to time.

EAX is on... perhaps I should try without it :?

I tried it without EAX and all the sound stuff and it still cracked. I shouldnt have to suffer for crappy sounds just to play this game.

It's not the game that's causing your problems. Sound Blaster Live cards are known for their instability. Try different drivers until you find a set that work. Or, Google the problem and see if you can find a solution, or search the forums like [H]ard, etc. If that doesn't do it, ditch the card. The game is gonna be worth it! I have onboard sound and it works fine. (nForce4 motherboard with 6 channel sound)
