It uses Stain05 actualy, I'll play around with it to see if I can get it looking better.
I'm going to add in some crumbs eventually or something like that. Maybe a tree or two.

I still have two more stages that need to be done, which are both much larger as they will host all players instead of just one like with this stage i'm working on.

...and that was only one question. Unless you're counting the question to ask a question a question in your array.

FYI, the ground doesn't look greenish at all to me. It's sand. SAND DAMMIT. Unless you can't recognize colors so well (my apologies if you can't), it's definitely normal sand IMO.

I thought the old cliff texture looked a bit better. The current one's red lining looks a bit odd to me, but it's okay.

It's the default sand01. it's not green on my monitor so it's gotta be yours.
several people say that it looks like sand and you're the only one who doesnt agree with that.
I do have a slight blue tint to the shadows, this might be what you're thinking looks like green, so the only suggestion I can reccomend to remedy this is for you to go outside sometime and look around.

Huh, I don't see a difference, and the last image gives me a 404 error.

Of course it looks more "green" in the shadows because the shadows are dark grey, but otherwise it's perfectly fine. It doesn't need a change IMO.

Hmm I guess it comes from the contrast with those orange rocks, still I think the sand should look a bit less brown/greenish

Ok, reviving the desert map after a little hiatus.
I have some good plans with it, but i'm going to need some help.

When my laptop crashed, i lost intrest in mapping for ss2. It was just too much work skinning each model at least twice. However, making the geometry is really easy.
Now with SSSE, it's the inverse. So, I got a lightbulb and I'm going to make the geometry in ss2 for ssse mapping. This is gonna be really great. hopefully at least.

Sure the shadows won't be as great but it's a good trade off for the enemies, weapons and netcode.

Now, I have a bunch of things I also need to figure out with this.
I need to figure out a way to 'count' how many players are in an area so that I can kill off excess enemies.
I have an idea to use a watch players but i'm unsure how it will work for multiple players.

Another problem is how to kill off the enemies. The only thought I have so far is to create a touchfield that is the same as the floor, and activates when there arent any players.

The biggest problem, is finding people that will help with some test maps to see if the concepts work. I need at least one person to help, preferably more. If I had two machines working, i'de use my lan but that it's the case.
Just PM me if you're interested.

Nice work. The flares give off the impression that you've been in darkness through most of the temple and have just seen some light in quite a few hours

The dark corners option doesn't work too well though, mostly in the central room

Yeah, not bad. I think some wild vegetation would fit the atmosphere (like, ivy models hanging from your ceiling etc). Oh and, I guess putting some puddles around wouldn't hurt.

That's not dark corners, that's too low shadow res.

That's probably because insects are very small and since you're looking at them very close with sharp detail, you can see a lot of stuff on the insect that you won't normally see just by looking at them

I wonder if I can do this with my camera...
