There, two games that can REALLY stress out your system, especially GPU.
So i got all the parts for my massive new computer(minus monitors, need to re-figure my budget first)
And one of the sweet bits is a new GTX 285 =D
the awesome part is i got it for $110 off.
the catch is, i only have 30 days to return it, and thats it, nto even sure if it'll have manufactures warranted, and from what i've read, BFG's customer service blows. On top of that the actual card hasn't had the best reviews. It performs grea,t but it seems there a few bad apples.
It sounds like it may have to do with not having the best heating. So complained it go that, other complained about crashing, so i'm guessing people were putting them in older less ventilated cases. This shouldn't' be a problem for me since i made sure to get a very nicely ventilated case.
Being that I don't want to lose out on $300 after 30 days, i would really like to stress test this thing to make sure, if there is a possibility of trouble i'd rather get my money back and get a guaranteed stable card
However I have no clue where to start.
halp?
thanks

Can run Nvidia designed GPU folding client on it for a 24 hour period. That will test both cores and memory to the maximum.

I welcome games that are actually designed from scratch for the PC platform. I think it was brilliant that they put in settings for PCs of the future, rather than fill it with artificial limitations that would later prevent the game from looking better once the PCs get powerful enough to raise the bar.
+1 to sURFN's suggestion, by the way.
Yeah, i'm with surfn. 24 hours with folding should stress it more than anything. Otherwise you have things like Furmark, which should push your card to the maximum too. It's quite known for killing HD4000 cards, which die from thermal stress (from what i gather, it was a design oversight from AMD in regards to thermal protection of the VRMs, as Furmark stresses the cards in a way they were never ever meant to be stressed and that no real app - read game - would ever stress them). I'm sure it stresses nvidia cards just as badly.
Edit: Just be vary that Furmark is capable of killing perfectly healthy cards by frying the VRMs by thermal overload on practically every graphics card. So i'd say folding is a safer stress test.

I got the BFG GTX 285 FU and I've been running folding on it for quite some time on it with no problems thou my XFX 9800GT doesn't seem to like it vary much (crashes) so it seems like a good stress test. just run it for 20 days and you should have your answer.
GAHH!!!

Dude... does your card have the Batman: AA art on it? That's freaking awesome.
Sorry I'm not contributing to your question, I just wanted to say how awesome I thought that was![]()
