Default New Creature Framework

New Creature Framework

It is a small tool that makes your Serious Sam HD able to load new enemies by replacing old ones. It is also designed to make the game the way you want to have it. One enemy, for example can be replaced with his new two variants, while you can choose which one you want to see in game. Everything is powered by a simple program, that allows you to make these configurations. That's what the NCF is.

Well, I suppose it's a convenience ... but really all you needed to do is make your mod a gro and give it a higher version number. That would have made the game load that one with your custom enemy overrides than the original ones. Good work non the less And the remover tool is cool.

Thanks for such good words. ^^ I really appreciate. The idea with gro files is really nice, but I have to thought it over, because I don't know if script would work propertly then, and in fact... what would change then? Only some folders wouldn't be seen then, but a lot of gro files. If I will do something like that - mostly in version 1.5, or 2.0... In the meantime, I want to make some more enemies, and also try to go further. All my new enemies are now bassed on existing ones, same with projectiles. I want to make something different, that no user could even think about.

Still, thanks, I'll try to see if the gro idea would work.

I'm now working on version 2.0 of NCF. Because it seems there is no bugs with that version, I try to move further.

What changes you ask?

1. Serious Replacer and Remover Tool have been rewritten. They are no longer bat scripts, but normal programs (written in C++). That will allow better possibilities (in version 2.5 I want to make a configuration files for example), and in fact - better, less laggy way of coding.

2. GRO files - welcome. Mod will not use folders now, but gro files. That will make less mess, and a lot easier way for me to code changes.

3. Changes in enemies, of course. There will be more of them. For now, I have two new enemies (arachnoids), and I'm working on some more. The sad thing is that I kinda changed their code. From now on, they won't be another puppet/model/scheme file, but with the names of existing ones. That will make my job easier, but mappers won't be able to put my enemies on map. It seems that in fact no one wanted to do that, so that's not a pain I guess. ^^

Here are screenshots of two new (arach)noids:
