Default Do anyone actually tried next encounter with pcsx2?

Just as remainder:

The PCSX2 project attempts to allow PS2 code to be executed on your computer, thus meaning you can put a PS2 DVD or CD into your computers drive, and boot it up!
Since I have no PSX2 (or any console for that matter) I was wondering if I could play with the PC. So...

Do anyone tried, or is willingly to try, playing Next Encounter on the PC using pcsx2?

I think Finzy posted some pictures of him playing Next Encounter on PC using an emulator. But you need an original copy of the game and some "bios data" that you need to retrieve from a real PS2.

I am not sure how this works, hopefully he will see this thread.

Some people are making a remake of this game using Serious Editor 3 http://forums.seriouszone.com/showthread.php?t=59464

The point of the post was to know if it was reasonable to buy a copy of the game.

About the bios.... Well... skulls and bones?

It should work just fine if you emulate it with a legit PS2 disk.

Done it. Runs perfectly but requires a beefy PC.

I've played the game up to the atlantis levels in PCSX2 with a PAL version. Haven't touched the emulator in about a year by now though, so the newest revisions might perform better.

It is playable but requires some technical know-how setting it up, especially on speedhacks if playing on a less powerful PC.

If you need help you can PM me here on the forums. I think my old thread with instructions and all got deleted during the forum downtime, sadly. First off you'll need a PS2 bios (instructions can be found on the PCSX2 site/forum, needs an ethernet adapter or later PS2), and you can rip the disc to your hard drive using a program like Imgburn since playing from just the DVD is much slower.
