Default Getting Normal map textures to work properly for SSHD Custom Models

The one thing I have been noticing for a while is that most custom SSHD models (weapons, player models, etc.) do not have a UVMap called "Texture" and this causes a problem that makes the normal map textures not work at all if there are any applied to the model.

Here's a screenshot of this problem:

See how there is a normal map texture applied but isn't actually working at all due to the fact that there isn't a UVMap called "Texture" in the mesh.

This also causes the serious damage powerup texture effect to bug out if the model does not have the "Texture" UVMap, as seen in this screenshot here:

However, this is very easy and simple to fix and in this tutorial, you will learn how to fix this problem and make your SSHD models look more serious and more sexy with working normal maps!

Step 1:

Open up the model's mesh file in the mesh editor.

Step 2:

On the right side of the screen, click on the "Maps" tab and then click on "Texture".

Step 3:

After you click on "Texture", a box will pop up and will ask you to name the new UVMap you are adding. Name the new UVMap as "Texture".

Step 4:

After you add in the "Texture" UVMap to your mesh, save the file and apply your normal maps. NOTE: You must still use the mesh's other UVMap to apply your normal map textures.

Here's what the fixed model looks like with the serious damage powerup texture effect working properly:

And that's it. Hope this tutorial was helpful to any SSHD modder out there.
