Unhappy Linux dedicated server doesn't appear in server list

Hi all,

i'm trying to set up a SS3 BFE dedicated server, my client is the steam version (and the server was installed with SteamCMD) and for some reason, the server doens't appear in the server list. i used thed the GUI to generate the config gile and here is the init logs:

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier.

Are you sure the port is reachable on both TCP and UDP? (27015 AND 27016, for serverlist enumeration)

You could try connecting to rcon:

$ nc your.server.example.com 27015
> telnet your.server.example.com 27015

Or in the game's console, you could run this:

gam_esgaStartAs=2
gam_strConnectToIP="your.server.example.com:27015"
gamStart()

Hi,

thanks for the answer. i have been able to connect to the rcon with telnet but from the console of the game i get:

Lua error: [string "gam_strConnectToIp="192.81.213.116:27015""]:1: Script tried to write a new global variable (gam_strConnectToIp). Please either use a loc

there is a cut off in the console on that message.

the server still doesn't show in server list and is online ATM if you want to make a ping or something.

Let me know if i can try something else.

You have to type gam_strConnectToIP, note the capitals.

Try updating the server with SteamCMD, there was a recent update as far as I know.

thanks for your help, now works, the only little problem i found, is that if i define:

If you set an rcon password, you can log in via rcon and probably change it there by changing gam_idGameMode, but I'm not sure about that. I know that at least you can call a vote to change the gamemode when you're in the server, and then call samVotePass() via rcon to force the vote to pass.
