Let's keep it realistic too.

I'd take dual Athlon MP 2100s, both Vapochilled and overclocked to 2.4Ghz, an Asus A7M266-D, 1 gig of DDR, a Matrox Parhelia (also Vapochilled to beat the living hell out of everything), 4 120GB drives in RAID 0 for storage, 2 38GB Seagate Cheetah X15s in SCSI RAID for bootup, SB Audigy, Klipsch Promedia 5.1 speakers, a nice Coolermaster aluminum case, 3 22 inch monitors to hook up to the Parhelia, a DVD burner, 48x CDRW.

I would play all my games at 1600x1200 with 16x Fragment Antialiasing and 16-tap anisotropy and maximum detail. Doom 3 would run at these settings and get about 200fps.

Quad-processor(2 GHz each) rack-mount server. 2 GB RAM. Four 40 GB SCSI drives in a RAID array. T3 connection.

Obviously, not for gaming...for Seriously!

my ideal computer with the current technology?

Athlon 2100 MP

best asus mobo on the market that supports raid and has at least 266Mhz FBS

NV30 Vid card since they're only a couple months away and i'd get it in an asus board so it'll work better with the Mobo, the vid card would also have to include tv in/out etc.

at least 3Gb DDR PC2700 with registered ECC because of the fact that it would be an MP system.

Lain Li Full tower case with wheels.

550watt power supply.

dvd burner drive + TDK cyclone cdrw drive

6 x 160Gb ATA133 HDD's (thats the most ive seen in HDD storage on the market atm otherwise i'd go for bigger drives)

water cooling on the CPU, and one of those CPU/Mobo temp monitor panels in one of the 5 1/4 bays.

sound card = something good that will handle 5.1DTS easily and a nice set of speakers to accompany it.

Gigabit Ethernet Card.

Both the option of using either Duel 23inch active Flat panel screens or a projector.

Thats about all i can think of atm.

You can't say you would get Doom 3 at that speed, for sure..
I highly doubt it, anyways..

It's the ideal computer

Fragment Antialiasing is awesome on the Parhelia and has a minimal effect, it's different from Full Scene Anti-Aliasing (FSAA) because it only antialiases the edges instead of the whole shape

With a Vapochilled Parhelia, anything would be possible

Hey I'd rather have Alienware than, Dell,etc...but if I was building the ultimate PC I'd forget Alienware and I'd have a pre-modded and professionally painted custom aluminum case and whatever components I want in there! I think I'll take a Coolermaster ATC-110 anodized blue on the sides with a miniature 8 inch LCD screen built in to the side, stealth mods on all the drives, cathodes inside, totally vapochilled and the board would be voltmodded, as would the Parhelia.

Another thing with alienwares are that I don't think you can overclock them, at least not the P4 configs because they use Intel boards (very stable..but you can't OC them)

So naturally if I wanted the ULTIMATE PC I would not want any limitations and cost would not be an issue.

I think Alienware is a great PC maker, I'm not saying I'd buy one but they are great.
