So I was browsing through Zdzichu's alpha RM mod folders, check this out:

What the fuck? Why is that head/face there? The bottom of the neck of the head/face seem to suggest it's actually a head, probably not severed? Since no other Headman textures has these, could this mean that Firecracker is indeed the first Headman, just like I theorized?

Also Firecracker's severed head is pretty detailed too

ok i'm going to be completely honest here. the alpha textures for those enemies scares me (especially headman). is it normal that i find the alpha enemies scarier than the final one?

Well, In The Flesh is supposed to be a horror-themed FPS like Doom after all, so...

The guy in the demonic red face yes, but the albino guy probably not. But they probably did do a good job with the horror though.

Nice job Jetroid! Guess that explains why it's so detailed. I wonder how many more CT textures are ripped from real life?

To be serious, the Origins team is very strong. And I think we will see very high-quality product in the end.

You seem to be missing the point here, SSO is about recreating alpha Sam, so of course they're gonna use his old model.

Will they bring John J. Dick to do the voice or will they use the "Alpha" voice actor for sam?

Oh, I understand the point completely. Who doesn't? A 5 year old could understand the concept. I just find it to be a waste of good work in a sense when you make stuff that nice and all you see is old style, low quality models up close.

'cause opinions.

Low quality stuff has its charms too, isn't that why people still play old games to this day?

I think you're missing the point. Sam's Alpha model was drastically changed for a reason; because the Serious Engine can present models that look much more fantastic compared to the early days of beta.

You're free to argue that his older model is being used for the purpose of reminding the audience that this is an "alpha remake", but given how visually impressive Serious Sam was in its final release, it probably would've been better to use the finalized assets, or at least, update the original Sam/Enemy models to look like they hadn't been run through a food processor.
