After Serious Sam 4 is out, should Croteam work on Sam 5 or Talos 2?

I'd be interested to see what people think. Serious Sam is very established and has a dedicated fan base. The Talos Principle has been a bit of a surprise hit, and until there is a good sale, there are many future fans who don't know what they are missing.

What do you think Croteam should do (only once Serious Sam 4 is out). I hope we get another Talos next and alternating with more Serious Sam.

Possibly one day some sort of mash up where Sam uses his arsenal to hold off hordes of baddies while the android is collecting pieces and solving puzzles.

While I certainly wouldn't mind more Talos, I have a hard time seeing what they could do with the story. More puzzles sure, but the story seems to have a pretty definitive end.

Of course there may be ways around it, but I do fear that those would lead to a story that's practically the same.

As for whether I'd want an SS5 or Talos 2 after SS4 - that's a hard choice. Will depends a lot on how SS4 turns out. If SS4 brings a lot of freshness to the series, then I think I'd want an SS5 faster. If SS4 ends up on the more "stale" side of things, then I think I'd prefer Talos 2 first.

They just do whatever the hell they want - it always comes out well..

Would love to see more unique new games, to be honest, would be fun.. I wonder what would happen if Croteam tried to make a truly competitive game (either first person shooter or something else)

Maybe it will be like Crank 2 "he died but he got better"

Or maybe its similar to The Matrix/Inception where there are multiple levels etc ..

Keep in mind I'm yet to see all the endings but a good writer can come up with something. Add in some Croteam humour into the mix and anything is possible.

First they would have to fix their weird jumping.
That would never take in a serious competitive game.
People wouldnt stand for it (or wouldnt buy it based soley because of it).

They fucked up jumping for competitive sake with Serious Sam 3, it's really good in HD though.. (especially since it has strafejumping)

Yes, SS5.
No 'other' games, no 1/2 and 1/2 games.
DEFINITELY not a puzzle or lockpicking game.
A well made SS with stealth might be cool if done right. Of course, that would be pace breaking to the other SS games, but maybe that might be refreshing for the franchise. A platforming, stealth OR action SS game.
Hmmmmmmmm, it 'could' work.

That would need properly developed factions first to work well. And probably a third faction at that, at least.

Why not make it only about mentals minions trying to gain supremacy within the army for glory and honor? So every monster would be a different faction and expand on each of them from there. Or have several different groups of monsters to make it more limited (Headless Hunters, Beastlies, Cyber Squad, etc).

With clever marketing it could work well (thinking of the join mentals army stuff for ss3).
