I finished your map in under 5 minutes. (Small Proof)From start to finish! You should maybe rethink your map's Macro scripting, instead of relying on that Players ALWAYS pick up all items that you have scattered around.

Under 5 mins? But there were battles that were activated by going through detector areas. How did you survive without weapons? Or did you take advantage of the "bug shortcuts"?

Thanks for editing your previous post btw, I'll take a look at it!

Right, played your map. Have some suggestions:
1st Why didn't you smooth the mountains? They look kinda creepy Texturing is all messed up, fix their UV map!
2nd Too many enemies in one place + they spawn from only one place, it would be better if you used linear spawner.
3rd ....Uhm...What is that? http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/3600/wtffw6.jpg
And there's a lot of items that are like that...Man, even the coins
Overall: Not bad map, if you're a beginner

@ GeForceNoob

1. I don't know how to fix them. I tried smoothing them but it didn't make them any better. The texture always looks a little out-of-place unless I make it appear flat. Any ideas how to fix the UVMap?

2. I know, I know, I'm not too good at spawning Perhaps I should try making DM maps...

3. Hmm, has anyone else seen black entities like GeForceNoob does? I don't know why the heck that happens. Do you have the SDK examples pack installed? I'm sure that I didn't use any SDK models, but it might be worth a try, as you seem to be the only one who has this problem.

@ ChJees- Thanks for adding the link.

@ kleercut- Did you try downloading both from Filefront and Rapidshare? Could you tell me which one doesn't exist, and does anyone else get this problem?

(Not directed to anyone)
I'll update this map soon and fix the major bugs that ChJees mentioned. I'll also release a final version of Mountain Madness. It might take a while, because I'm a bit busy with my module. Massive amount of dialog and areas to do....

You should change the property of the UVmap. Do not make the texture stretch till they fit the side (thus having different sizes of texture). You map want to choose "Don't fit"

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/1882/uvmapxi0.jpg

Hope this helps

That will help, I had "Fit both UV" selected. I wonder why the heck this wasn't mentioned in the terrain tut on SeriousEngine.com. It's just wrong.

Did anyone happen to find all the secrets I put in my map? Or should I make them easier to find?

just the rapidshare. i didn't try the filefront because
a) my computer won't pull up the site and
b) I usually don't have probs with rapidshare
Very nice map though! I like all the secrets, they made it interesting.
EDIT: Oh yeah, 6 out of 6!

PS: lmao @ Arr, I'm a Hairy Fairy.

No probs. I'm listing them all here: (***SPOILERS! RUN FOR YER LIVES!***)

1st secret:
It's near the very beginning of the map. Follow the pills that lead to the top of a small hill. You'll see a drowned santa in the lake.

2nd secret:
Treehouse of horrors! You can find a hidden teleport near the massive tree. Check the left side of the tree to find it (there's a small health item floating near the portal).

3rd secret:
You can climb up a small hill near the same tree that was mentioned in secret #2. When you reach the top of the hill, look for a tree that has yellowish lianas. Pick up the armor and health you find and prepare for a bitch assault.

4th secret:
Luxury camping spot- go through the big wooden log until you see a hole in it. Jump through the hole and turn left. You'll see a nice relaxing spot along with sniper bullets.

5th secret:
Remember that big fortress in the valley surrounded by mountains? Up, up the stairs we must go...until we come to a tunnel-errmm, I mean when you see a phone booth. Enter the phone booth and you'll get teleported to the top of the mountains, where the rocket festifal starts...

6th secret:
Dead zixie pervert can be found by going through the first teleport in the chicken factory. Don't go to the second teleport yet, but turn left- and you'll see a small health item floating behind the factory. Crouch or jump to get through the grass that blocks your way, then turn right- and bang, you're there. As a reward you'll get a plasma rifle.

That sounds nice

Here's the final version of Mountain Madness. You don't believe how many times I had to go test it in-game and run back to editor, pack the .gro, pack the .zip, realize that I made a mistake, and then re-do everything...it took so much time. Sigh...

*falls to the floor*

Filefront gave me an upload rate of 0.0 Kbps. Couldn't host it there, so here's a Rapidshare download link:

http://rapidshare.de/files/32878070/...in_Madness.zip

I hope I packed the finalized version of the level...

Excellent day in Oblivion. I found an uber-quality staff from an ayleid ruin that's full of azhkan trolls. It's called "Molag Stava". It's spell deals 70 pts of fire damage + causes a 25% weakness to fire.
http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/3396/molagstavamo9.jpg

This is basically how the ruin looks like;
http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/633/azhkantrollruinsyc7.jpg

These bosmer rangers got killed by a spectral warrior that was chasing me (they did defend me well though). Later on I tried to escape this spectral warrior by going to Anvil, but my game crashed during the loadscreen.
http://img234.imageshack.us/img234/6157/bosmercampkk9.jpg

I got constanly attacked by a pack of wolves while trying to take this screenshot:
http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/6496/thewoodlandsbz1.jpg

Has anyone tried Mountain Madness yet?

Disconnector complained in my showcase thread because I posted Oblivion screenshots (Of my character of course). Yet there's no sign of complaints here

Also, I searched that whole ruin and never found that staff you mentioned or a way up to a place I can't reach

It came with OOO 1.3 (Obscuro's Oblivion Overhaul). There's also lots of trapped chests in that ruin (usually there's defensive staves inside), but normal Oblivion doesn't have them. There are no bosmer camps in normal Oblivion either. Or additional ruins and caves that come with OOO. Heck, there's so much stuff that's missing in normal Oblivion when compared to OOO.

And if it makes you feel any better, Discy is free to complain about Oblivion screenshots in my showcase as well. I'll show some screenshots of my nwn module next...
