Why do I even BOTHER buying games on disc anymore?! I ****ing bought Company of Heroes 2 and it's downloading 9gbs worth of data after I installed it. It JUST got released, I bought it on disc to avoid the long downloads. And any of you that know me would know why I would.

This is such a buzz kill. Was so excited to play, dude. So excited. *sigh*

Man, I never thought I would care so much for simple little quadrilaterals. Thomas was Alone is absolutely brilliant. I absolutely love the narration and makes each character have a very unique personality. Pretty standard platformer puzzle game though.

I've seen some people say that game made them cry. Hard to believe they can achieve something so meaningful in a game about rectangles. I can't wait to try it out.

The Humble Bundle that had that game was amazing. Hotline Miami, Little Inferno, Thomas was Alone... there were several more in the bundle, but those three alone more than justified the purchase. Hell, I was content after only playing Little Inferno.

This just goes to show that you don't need a blockbuster budget to make a game with a narrative that makes you feel.

I also realized something, The Walking Dead action game published by Activision is pretty much a glorified zombie apocalypse retelling of Oregon Trail. I realized this after watching a stream of Organ Trail.

Alright, I've got a simply badass deal that is only good for today. Buy two Bethesda games for only $15 total. The sweet part of the deal (at least for me) is that Dishonored is part of the list. Here is the full list:

-Dishonored
-Elder Scrolls: Oblivion GOTY Deluxe
-Doom 3 BFG
-Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Pack
-Elder Scrolls: Morrowind GOTY
-Fallout 3: GOTY
-Hunted: The Demons Forge
-Brink
-Rage

SALE OVER

Anyway, I picked up Dishonored and Rage. I know Rage has mixed reviews, mostly not so great reviews, but I still have been contemplating giving it a shot. Plus, $15 for Dishonored alone is a steal, so very nice.

Good deal, but Dishonored is the only one on the list I'm interested in. I either have the other games already, or don't really want them.

I really liked Rage. I don't get why it got so much criticism. It's a solid shooter with gorgeous graphics and some pretty cool vehicular combat. The weakest thing about it is the story. More often than not you just feel like an errand boy, but the game had plenty of other redeeming qualities. It's very atmospheric too.

I don't know if anyone here uses Giantbomb, but Ryan Davis passed away. He was 34.

Giantbomb wasn't a place I visit daily, or even weekly/monthly, but I've been there enough to get to know the guys running it. For the past few years I've gone there for their live E3 shows. Giantbomb is different because the people running it are Giantbomb. It's not just a faceless game journalism site like IGN and Gamespot. Anyone that's been there and seen a few of their videos will get to know the people running the show. Which makes it all the more sad that one of the lead members of their team has passed on..

Yeah, I admit I have rarely visited Giantbomb, so I don't really have any emotions to express.

Though dying at 34 is just too young. I also heard it happened just a few days after getting married, so incredibly sad.

I am curious in regards to the circumstances surrounding his death. Was it an automobile accident? I hate to jump to conclusions so quickly after the death, but judging by his health, I imagine a heart attack or stroke isn't completely out of the question.

Either way, RIP Ryan Davis and thoughts & prayers go out to family and friends.

It's becoming a real annoyance playing some of the older games in my steam list. People keep messaging me going "So what do you think of ___ now that you've bought it" or "you finally bought ____" or "Oh i guess you bought that game when it was on sale?"

I'm just trying to replay the older games that I enjoy and I get at least 4 people each time saying that shit to me. *grumble* People always assume you just buy a game and then finish it and never come back to it months in the future.

I've gone to replying to people that say "how do you like it?" or "what do you think of it" by replying with "as good as it was when I bought it on release" since I buy most of my games on release.

Also post #1000 get by Viper.

Hmmm... I never get that.
Also, if they are too stupid to see that a game is not in Your recently bought feed, it means at the time they are too stupid to be talked to. Wait till they get sober.

I don't think many people actually check that. I for sure as hell don't.

At least you got that. What I got is either "*just got into a game after a long day* HEY CAN YOU HELP ME!" or "Holy shit Solais is playing a game!". The latter is okay, but the former is annoying and happens all the time. Nowadays I'm thinking of switching off Steam Community while playing any game.

I add people, fix their problem then remove them. Simple as pie. Then they don't feel like you're there just for them.

Unless you're Slayer. Then removing him does nothing.

There are downsides to having your every move broadcasted by Steam. They should really add some privacy options.

Been playing Blood Dragon over the past few days (almost 100%'ed it, will do so tonight) and while playing last night, a thought suddenly popped into my mind.

This game is what Duke Nukem Forever should have been. The one liners hit just the right spot and the game is a giant homage to retro games. Everything just feels so campy, staying serious while employing some of the best comedy ever. If DNF delivered in these categories in the same way that Blood Dragon did, I am sure the game would have received much better reviews.

Granted, I am in the silent crowd that actually doesn't think DNF was a horrible game. Sure, it didn't live up to the hype and fell short of previous Duke Nukem titles, but I did enjoy the game.

I approve, NMR. I haven't put any time into Blood Dragon but I will eventually.

Got Dishonored on sale by Vasiles recommendation. A very thrilling experience. Game keeps saying I killed people but I didn't. >_> It doesn't explain killing though. It says not killing will make the end less dark and some people will like me if I don't kill. But is that like, not killing at all or is a little bit of killing okay? Wish it would tell me.

I think if it says "Low Chaos" at the end of a mission, then it's okay.

Yea, as long as you get low chaos you're good.

Also, I'm not sure how being "undetected" in a level works. From what I could tell, if they are alerted a bit it doesn't really matter, just as long as they don't actually _see_ you. (Which I guess would mean a read fizzy bar above their heads instead of a white one? Still, if you want to get the 'ghost' rank thingy in a mission, best really avoid being too suspicious.)

Note that rats may eat dead bodies, and dropping them from heights kills them. Also if they touch water they usually die xD

If someone kills someone else, it doesn't count towards you killing people though...

Unless you're really obsessed with not killing anyone, like I was, I wouldn't worry about killing a few nameless guards. Just as long as you pick nonlethal options for the main objectives

Actually, I was rather OCD about it and always tried to knock out EVERYONE in the level without ever being spotted. Needless to say, that's why I have about 22 hours in the main game and 7 in the Knife of Dunwall DLC... (The rest I spent playing some of the challenge levels)

I'm mostly non-lethal but I killed the main objectives since I was told to. >_> Thanks for the info, very much. I threw a guard or two to the rats to dispose of a body since there were no hiding places.

There is always a nonlethal option, you just have to explore more sometimes to find it or something.

It might not matter too much even if you kill a few main targets, unless you want to do a full Ghandi run like I did

Actually, I recommend doing the nonlethal option with the main targets because they are awesome alternatives.
