I've been thinking about dropping out too, there's alot of things going on in my life and the SS3 editor lags so much it's pretty much unusable.

I couldn't join this competition 'cos I am working on a project that I will present soon but you gotta keep the community alive, doesn't mean that if theres a competition the best mappers would enter it and you think you don't stand a chance or something, just do it.

What I got so far is really abstract, and I fell I can't work with it ATM.

Well continue the work you do, you shouldn't really care about how abstract it looks, I mean, that is a point that counts for this topic, you can do anything crazy and absurd you want as long as it is fun and long. Tbh, I also thougth about quitting once because I didn't feel like continuing but then I got myself together and started to work each day when possible and it was worth it.

Don't lose hope guys, if you have all the time you need, use it well.

But, I won't force you. Do as you will.

Don't give up! Barring important things like school, work, etc, you should keep going. Finishing what you start is an important skill that will serve you well throughout your entire life. Take every opportunity to cultivate it!

Kinda hard to find modivation to finish what started when everyone tells me to "stop doing the worthless fucking shit that you do all day."

Eh, that is pretty normal, parents usually don't see anything on the computer as working or a job except writing stuff and what not. My parents were like that too before till I completely explained them what I am doing at all, my parents see it now as a hobby and accept it as working.

It's not that simple, I've been doing for 12 years and he refuses to understand it, he's former military BTW.

Why not use revenge as motivation? Make good mods, and next time if you're hired by a game company, show off how you attained the great successes that they can never hope to have as you ride on the llama of success.

Technically speaking, when the entries will be made into a campaign, that will be most likely only available on the workshop. There's more "coverage" that way, instead of this almost dead forum. What's your problem with the workshop anyway?

And more importantly, I cannot change what workshop content i'm using while offline.

Since stuff started later officially, the deadline for the whole thing is May 31st. So exactly 4 weeks before the thingamajig is over!

On another side note, chapters 1&2 are done, sorta.

The play time is around 10 minutes so far.

Furthermore the player dies at the end of chapter 1 and respawns in chapter 2 (I could have just teleported the player but having him go into Avatarmode in chapter 2 is important, plus I needed him to lose all his weapons), I'm still limited to what I know about lua so this is the best the answer I got.

Ugh god dammit, my SS3 is so modded that it crashes when I respawn and I cannot set to single player, I forgot.

I'll figure out something.

perhaps i'll use another black transition. But I've already done that 2 times now.

Thats why a good modder doesnt mod with other mods except for player models and maps.

I had a friend who had this huge mod that got all fucked up because he forgot to disable Solais' Extended mod.
