Default Please tell me this game will be for PC

I understand that Serious Sam Next is console only. I really hope that Serious Sam 2 isn't just an internal name for Serious Sam Next. Not being able to play Serious Sam 2 on my PC would piss me off to no end.

Do you know that for a fact? Can you link me to an official statement saying that? Because if I were an optimist, I would have assumed the same thing.

sure...

well, here is another forum post with a quote from the SS: NE press release.. and by the way, the PS2/GC game isn't even being developed by Croteam. It's being developed by "Climax".

At www.croteam.com , in their news post at the very bottom, they say..

Quote:
Most of our fans already know or read that, but for those less familiar, we are in development of Serious Sam 2 for PC and Xbox for quite some time now.

Trust me... they're 2 seperate games.

[edit: and also, the Next Encounter is still running on the same engine, as far as i can tell... Croteam is work on the Serious Engine 2 for "Serious Sam 2" for PC/Xbox]

no problem

you should also make sure to read the rest of Croteam's updates. If you weren't aware, they recently started a "weekly report" that they post every friday. Pretty cool stuff in those reports.. and hopefully they'll show us some screenshots soon!

I'd be slitting my wrists if the next encounter WAS SS2... Don't worry, the Next Encounter is a stopgap until SS2 comes out (and it shows... )

Yeah, those reports are pretty tantalising, but why can't they release a couple of screenies (even development ones- wireframes even!)? I know this gets asked so often, but it would be like manna from heaven.

i know... and i'm really disapointed... all we've seen of SS2 was a model of a snowmobile, and that was a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago, so it may not even be in the game itself. It seems like they're pretty far into the game, i mean, making cutscenes and all... i'd think they have enough to at least show us something.

....

I think we deserve it.

Still, they will come when they're done.

Man, I haven't been here in weeks or months and STILL not much info about SS2. That's no way to treat a loyal fanatic. Croteam, how about some screenshots?

....of course, considering my computer's two years out of date now, I probably don't want to hear what the system requirements'll be for this new game. *sigh*

cheers,
Phil aka Darth Hobbit

Well, I would remain optimistic Darth Hobbit. I'm sure the System Requirements won't be too high as they will more then likely allow the user the ability to tone down the graphics for low end computers and a full quality selection for those who can handle anything out right now (lukcly that includes me). As for everyone talking about no screens for the loyal fans, I just have to say that I more then most of you would love to see some screens but then the next minute I'd want the game. I can wait until they get me some screens as long as they don't take too long to release a test and then the full game. Everyone just be patient and leave everything to Croteam, they will take care of us so that we don't end up in a straight jacket waiting for this game.
