Default Pole: mapping competition

OK, here is one simple questtion. If there will be "mapping competition," would you take part in it? It's not important if you are still begginer. Please answer seriously

Also, what do you think about it?

And sorry for bad english

What about making 2 or 3 teams with 2 or 3 mappers each?

no. teams are bad for mapping. you get it done a ton quicker by yourself.

WTF?! what do you mean? Aren't you great mapper? What do you mean you don't have skills? And I already said, it's not important how good you are.

I suck at competitions. I simply CAN'T make a map I like in one month. I have no interest in doing ordinary maps anymore, so therefore I try to make TOO complex and strange maps for my skills. Bleeh, I don't know, I just can't get anything done anymore. Everytime I start a map, I usually quit soon due to the lack of skill or inspiration.

Hey man join the boat, your not the only one with "lack of inspiration". Although I'm still taking part in the BTBA mapping challenge I swore by the stone I would finish some map, even if its not by pro standards, just wanted to make one and I was first inspired by BTBA and almost every map ever attempted besides one was set for BTBA but failed miserably. Can't say the same with my current project which will kick ass as its looking good.

Might be fun, but no way I'd have the time until summer. If you think going to school sucks up the time, try teaching it.

sounds like it's going to be very hard to pool people together...
therefore the timeframe for any competition should be a long one,
perhaps at least 4 months. and maybe we can throw in a prize like a
free game or something. i could spare a few bucks.

mapping competition would be great.

I think AJ's second one kinda died out

if there is one we need ground rules and a theme like Single Player, Deathmatch, Coop, etc.

Balck Mage, I got an idea:

When the summer starts, start a summer-mapping-competition. At least I'll have plenty of time then.
