Default SP Mapping Competition: No Enemies

I'm bored. Let's have a mapping competition!

Theme
single player, no enemies
Think of creative ways to make challenging single player level without the use of any enemies.

Rules
The deadline is midnight Pacific time on Saturday October 4th, one month from now. The deadline can be changed depending on people's reactions.
It must be single player.
It must not have enemies.
You are allowed to use your own textures, models, sounds, music. Make your levels as creative and original as possible.
It should be for TSE v1.07 for the sake of convenience, but acceptions can be made.

Judgment
Maps will be judged on a scale of one to ten for five different categories. The final score will be the average of these scores.
The categories are:
  • originality/creativity
  • length (playtime)
  • amusement (how fun it is)
  • visuals
  • game play (free of bugs)

Examples
Here are a few scenarios so you get the idea:
  • You are being chased by a large slow moving rolling stone across a labyrinth of platforms over a pit of lava.
  • You are in a room with a bunch of switches. Each switch when "used" displays a section of a story. You need to use them in the right order to open a door.
  • You have a grenade launcher. You need to shoot the grenades into a set of baskets with obstacles. Kind of like miniature golf.

The competiton needs some judges. If you want to be a judge then just say so.

I might dig up nothingness, complete it and make it scary.
It was orignally planned as a dm then it went to sp.
Here is the only released screenie of nothingness.

Is it ok if my levels scary and not fun?

cool, i'm in too.
just a suggestion though, maps should be started from scratch and not ones that you've worked on for like the last year or so lol. because this is a little strict, maybe a month ought to be a better time.

I'll extend the deadline if it means more people will contribute. I won't be making a map because I want to be a judge, I am too busy with school, and I spent all of my ideas in the 51200 Bytes of Fun Challenge plus the map pack I am working on.

I'd like to sign up myself and Cipher as judges (producing 1 score, not 2 seperate ones) representing Direwolf. I suck at mapping and Cipher hasn't learned the Sam mapper yet (nor does he have much time to), so judging is the way we want to go in this one

I'll enter. I have a question tho. Can we use things like gun turrets and things on the walls that shoot arrows and stuff? Do they count as enemies in your opinion?

I do not recommand to give more time than the 4th of october. People react a lot more positively when they have tight deadline. I learn that from the zombie competition. Anyway, people will do there map in the last week of the competition.

I'll consider only things that are included in the enemies folder of your default virtual tree as enemies. So to answer your questions, yes you can use them, and no I wouldn't consider those as enemies. You can use shooters and eruptors however you want to. You could even use those things that Joben used here.

I'm sorry to hear that DiEgo. I hope there ends up to be more that one competitor.
Does anyone else want to be a judge?
