Default Entities and their Animations and Sounds?

What exactly triggers each of a LeggedCharacter's animations and sounds? Some sounds won't activate unless you define it in an animation events (Fire, Idle), but other sounds will play automatically if you give them the right term (Alive, Death, Sight).

So why isn't the 'Wound' sound playing for my custom enemy even though I've named it correctly and gave it animation events?
