Default single player campaign on 74

Hi guys,

I am doing a single player campaign on X74.
That means with armor and health but enemies at 400% and limited ammo.
Now I managed to get through the first 5 levels (even broken wings) with a lot of patience and luck, using the environment to my advantage and a lot of re-loading.
I am at the final boss in under the iron cloud.
With what I know so far I am pretty sure I will fail.

Can anyone give me tips on this boss, what is the safest place to shoot my cannon balls and rockets.

I will probably fail many times.

Ps.

Looking at the people who did this on X84 (without armor and health) I can only take my hat of in admiration.

As far as I did, just be careful about kamikazes, change to the Double Shotgun and *POW them, then change to the cannon and continue sprinting, that's right, don't fight with kleers or any type of enemy, only kamikazies

At least that's how i won

hmm, but kleers still hack at you and then we have the bulls.
I think I will choose a corner and see what happens. The enemies at the other side don't see you I hope.

Try to only kill when the Ship is reloading or you are completely surrounded!

Hey Spiff, I found this out when doing my Oldschool/Are you serious?/Master Egyptologist/Top secret achievement run through all the levels:

There is a broken down part of a building (just the 1st floor) directly in front of you (and a little to the right) when you enter the spaceship arena. You can climb on it and crouch in a corner of the broken down walls. Enemies cannot reach you there, Kleer projectiles hit the concrete floor, and the only thing to worry is spider's goo from time to time (when they approach, after that they stick to the walls below you). So if you have 200/200 health, cannonballs, full rockets and a little laser ammo maybe, you can hit the Spaceship safely from there till it goes down.

You need good aiming with the cannon of course, and some luck so that the beam does not cross your position. With a few tries, it should be OK.

Of course, you need to get rid of the harpies before that, so that they don't bother you from above. Make sure to go to the right at first when entering the arena, kill the harpies on the buildings and then kill the 20-25 harpies that spawn in the middle of the arena. Leave the harpies on the left side (as you enter the arena again) for last. There are I think 2 of them in the first corner if you walk counter-clockwise across the arena walls. It looks like these are the 2 that trigger the spaceship.

Good luck

This is some good advice, I will try it when I feel the courage to continue.
Just bummed on the queen hasseput achievement and I am a bit tired now

Yeah I know,

It should not be called "Queen Hatchesphut" achivement.

It should be called "F*** YOU, F*** YOU, F*** YOU and F*** YOU AGAIN" achievement. Inspired from the reactions of the players attempting it .

Well I made it, just like you said, i hid on the building on the side where you enter the arena and crouched down. Apart from the occasional spider venom it worked, the death ray never got me. After a while I had to use the pistol, I didn't dare to leave my hiding place for rockets.

Perfect camping place.

Now for silent riddler, surviving the first waves and the polip will be crucial.

Just use the Sandwhale delay glitch to get to the Boss without fighting anyone...

That should be the name of the Mental mode version of that achievement, if there'll be any.

Go to about 1:50:41 in this video to see skipping the second canyon:
YouTube Video: Ry's Attempts at the Queen Hatshepsut Achievement

Basically: Stand at that point facing about that exact direction, spawn Sandwhale, back out of the danger area, wait about 30 seconds, then go. Oh yeah, I also take down the boss on the first time I actually got to him while going for the achievement, so if you're wanting to take down any notes...

You can skip the first canyon as well, but I'm not as well versed in that skip. It's done in this video sometime after 1:23:37.

Alternatively, it's been reported that customizing difficulty does not count against the achievement, so you could possibly infinite ammo everything to death.

There is very complex strategy to get the boss. It's called "Run and Gun" and it's actually very hard...
