Ok, I have submitted the file on seriously after fixing all known bugs and making the level easier (again). Now the level shouldn't be a problem for anyone of you .

In the meanwhile, I have started building the sequel to StrangeTown - Part 1:
StrangeTown - Part 2 I know, very original title but I haven't found a better title so I keep the "Part #" format.

To get into modelling, I have created some simple models and integrated them into my level; you can see a screenshot below.

http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/9654/strangetownpt2progress0pn9.jpg

I guess you can remember the similarity to a known game
But keep in mind, that I use the models NOT for copying, I used them rather for making my level a bit special and crazier (I can't remember seeing these models in another SS2 level for now )

And, what you see there is the beginning yard. There starts the adventure and the fun beginns

So, if you are interested, you can send me your comments...

No no no ... that only LOOKS slanted, in fact, if you walk through the level in 3rd or 1st person, the models look correctly. The perspective makes it slanted ...

Needs walls or something to block the lower part of the background.

Too empty...

You could just map it for FE.

This map ISNT finnished. You should wait to see it if it's done!

IS there a way to export Models from FE/SE into .amf oder .raw for example and import the files in SEd2? That would be VERY nice.

You can't because the stuff in them is csg.

Models aren't CSG in SS1

There is a way to export CSG architecture to SED2 though if that's what you want Knight_Christian

I know, i know ...

But to be correct (and honest) I don't want to copy or clone levels, I just want some models to add them. Copying levels isn't my style (but some people think it is, it's not true) and I won't do this. But some CT models are just great.

You can be surprised, I am adding something really classic to my level Strange Town - Part 2.

Be surprised

I think it is easy and faster to remake SS1' s architecture in SEd2's Mesh Editor

It's not the models, you just seem to use similiar ideas quite often

No no ... this is absolutely NOT CORRECT! I HATE covering other people's ideas, because that is ... funless! So every Idea in STRANGE TOWN is mine!

And please don't waste my showcase with such replies, okay? Thanks...

Sometimes it's because there is a problem with the filesystem or the person responsible for uploading content is busy

After looking into FW's Sam's Mind (couldn't play it, only look) I realized that the really cool looking abstraction is possible only in SS1...
Well good luck anyway, maybe you'll make it somehow fun to play...

How the hell is it anything to do with the game how abstract you can make your own map look? It's how good you are, not the game

IMO Abstract maps in SS1 look really abstract, while such attempts in SS2 are just somehow... uhm... anything except abstract. Maybe that's because SS2 "soft" moving style and major layout like weapons and sounds, HUD...

Hm... MAYBE you're right, but in fact, FE and SE is UNCOMPARIBLE with SS2, you can say, SS1 and SS2 are two seperated feelings, one isolated from the other...
when I play SS1 it makes me feel different than SS2 (positive meaning )...
SS1 has easier levels, SS2 levels are a whole bunch harder, even that SS1 has MORE enemies than SS2, SS2 IS damn harder ... but anyway as I said, TWO feelings...

SS1 and SS2 are both good. They have their good points and bad points but neither are worse than the other

I played your strange town map K_C, and while the battles do drag on a bit, it was fun while it lasted.
I never got all the secrets though

Sorry, my bad. It's just that uploading files is something you really have to take the time for (testing if everything works, checking if there's any illegal material), uploading it etc, so I'd much rather upload a whole bunch of files every 2 weeks or so instead of uploading one file each time something gets submitted.

Aaaah okay. But, unfortunately, I have found a very little design flaw in my map that can be a possible exploit.

- Can I ask the webmaster to change the download link?
- And if yes, how is the webmaster's e-mail address?

You can PM me or resubmit the file at any time. Just make sure when resubmitting it you make clear it's an update, not a new file

So I will show you something completely different now. As I said, I am a programmer and I have programmed my first application that is now ready for public release

Here are the pictures.
Picture # 1: The application
http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/4258/universalhelper0003xk3.jpg

Picture # 2: The Add-MS-DOS-Games-Formular (I LOVE old games ))
http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/6245/universalhelper0004oa1.jpg

Picture # 3: The Protocoll (as you see I have played SS2 and great Mod lots of times )
http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/4489/universalhelper0001pg9.jpg

Picture # 4: The Statistics (whew, more than 65 hours of playing )
http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7194/universalhelper0002tf2.jpg

And here is the link:
http://files.filefront.com/Universal.../fileinfo.html

INSTALLATION:
1. Download Microsoft .Net Framework Version 2.0 (if you don't have it)
2. Run the .exe
3. Have fun !

Pretty cool. I love the feature in foobar2000 that measures the total length of every music you have listened to.

Ok, here is the patch for the bug in universal helper.

http://files.filefront.com/Universal.../fileinfo.html
Install the patch into the directory where the application lies. You have to overwrite the old .exe and the both language folders in order to make it work.
