Lol @ TGP's post. And shared name or not, Unreal 2 is still an Unreal game in my opinion.

And, I'm playing Duke Nukem: Time to Kill for PS1. Again. Controls can be a pain in the ass tho.

That's my favorite one in Duke Nukem series. "Let them eat lead!"

U3 beta, without a doubt it's a second-best game of all time.

Kind of lazy to get others, and this one's enough fun. Awaiting others, like Tiberian Apocalypse, Tiberian Sun Rising, and some I can't remember right now.

Playing Mass Effect.
About 8 hours in or so.

I like it, but MAN the cut-scenes and talking to everyone and trying to find your way around (ie: getting lost) has probably taken about 6 and a 1/2 of those hours.

It definitely isnt Serious Sam.

haha if you want LONG movie-like cutscenes you should play Metal Gear Solid 4! half of the game by itself is cutscenes

Mass Effect starts pretty slow. I'm assuming those 6 1/2 hours were spent on the Citadel? It's easily the largest non-combat section of the game. Though, generally, if you don't like talking and cutscenes, Mass Effect probably isn't the game for you.

ME2 is a bit more action oriented, though. It doesn't have anything on the scale of the Citadel.

Well, 5 of those hours were on the citadel.

I am going to play Mass Effect 2 after finishing 1.

Agreed.
As for me I continue revisiting classics that I haven`t played yet but would be interested in among with contemporary titles and this time it`s Dark places port of Quake.

I just replayed it today, having become obsessed with it last year.

Wow, I can't beat that. . .

Been revisiting the Sega Genesis lately. Fired up Streets of Rage 2 after 13+ years of collecting dust (I am using an emulator though, didn't feel like making the old fart work on my HDTV, if it is even possible.). This game absolutely rocks, search it up on youtube for some gameplay videos. I actually got past stage 3 for the first time recently, the stage 3 boss used to always kick my ass to game over in the past. I have been trying to practice the character Max and his Atomic drop move. Either I simply suck at grabbing enemies from behind or the controller really is a lot better than the keyboard.

Part of it might be that when you are small and want to get attention it really helps to have an unusual name. It's good for publicity when you don't have much money.

Another thing is that creators get to call their games whatever they want.

Because of google search results, example the game Narbacular Drop:

Another example is Bloodcrafter or Silentcraft Hill, if you google it you wont find many results. That is way I picked those names

thats why i always keep an old non HDTV on hand to whip out the classics and yeah SOR2 was the best in the series if you ask me although The sonics 1-4, Shining force, and ZAMN! will always be my genesis favs.

My grandmother might come to the rescue there, hehe.

You should check out the SoR Remake, by the way. It is really good imo, and freeware. It creates a kind of mashup of the three games as well as adding some brand new touches (For example new moves!), without ever straying away from the feel of the originals.

Only downside for me is that the speed is too fast. I understand the game is an arcade beat'em up but when the speed is too fast I don't really get as much kick out of the combat because the animations are faster and sort of overlap if you're spamming B. This is why I prefer Max over the others... I guess the speed is a trait from either SoR 1 or SoR 3 which I've never played, SoR 2's speed feels just right to me.

I don't believe that's possible. You have to fight Marbus while he continuously spawns bask fiends.

yeah the speed thing i believe is from the 3rd one but i could be wrong as i havent played SOR3 in a long time. if you really enjoyed the 2nd, the 3rd one will be nice for you though as it introduces a 4th fighter to the original three. and huh sounds interesting! is it some kind of indirect remake by sega, or a user made remake like along the lines oF super metroid redesigned/impossible?

It is developed by a 3rd party. In fact Sega asked them to pull down the download links to the latest version of the game, so I had to google around a bit to find a download.

I find it pretty incredible to wait until a project is actually finished before you decide to be against it and forbid its existence. One of the biggest dick moves one can pull off.
