I did! I liked it a lot. Lots of tension and emotion, wonderful acting and character development.

Watched "Letters from Iwo Jima". It might be the best WW2 movie I ever watched. It was very refreshing, if you can say that for a war film, to see it from the Japanese perspective. It also finally explained why you would see Japanese soldiers charge to death like lunatics in other movies. Kamikazes were not the only example of suicide attacks in the Japanese army. It can be said for every war ever fought, but damn, those who died during 1945 really died for nothing just because of sheer stubbornness and stupidity of their government, such a waste of life.

Victoria, great one take movie that lasts a bit over 2 hours, and one of the best "what can happen in 2 hours" kind of films. 8.5/10

The Last Witchhunter 7/10 - Decent story and nice choice of actors. Wasn't in theaters very long but worth a rental.

Justice League Vs Teen Titans 6/10 - The story was nice but they screwed up the VO editing. They like sped up several characters' voices too much and made them sound really clipped and just bad in general. Otherwise.. lol teen angst movie. It has its moments.

Just watched it a few days ago, it's a perfectly done, typical high-budget Hollywood movie. Not excellent, it just gets tedious sometimes with overlong scenes that could've been shorter, but overall - 8.5/10. The most outstanding features - great camera work and dreary soundtrack. Also, cool american landscapes.
---
Watched "Mystery Train" yesterday - 7/10. Nothing outstanding, but still it was a very comfy and funny movie to watch at night with a bottle of beer.

During vacation, watched all three Kung Fu Panda movies, and they did get better with every sequel.

Also yesterday I watched "Vacation" (2015), you know, that sequel to the old vacation movies; as a sort of post vacation movie. (Things are getting meta here.) It was a good laugh.

As with the Kun-Fu Panda movies I've only seen part 1 and part 3 - they were both great. However I have not seen part 2 yet for some reason, or I don't even remember..

Watched Batman vs Superman.

4/10 if you ask me. It had it's moments for sure, but i dunno, superman especially just felt way to dark, like movie in general, just like Man of Steel, just even more. Sure, i get it, situation is critical and all that but, dunno, this really felt too much. And don't get me wrong, i like me some depressing stories.

Most characters seems to lack of any real characterisation or personality for the most part, apart from maybe Batman, which was i think positive thing of the movie.

Action was done very nicely too.

But other than that...dunno, i just feel like DC is getting totally overboard with all the darkness, depression and what not.

Dunno, liked some moments, but overall, just feel rather dissapointed with the movie.

Didn't post it here, because I was fangasming on the chatbox, but I seen the Warcraft movie and loved it to bits.
While it got problems, I still give it the maximum 1 Sisko out of a Kirk and a Picard.

I had enough humans vs. orcs battles in Lord Of The Ring and Hobbit that I am not interested in this movie at all.

Well for instance, in LotR and Hobbit, there are no "good guy" orcs and exact same amount of time dedicated to both sides of the conflict.

Just watched Ice Age Collision via a car (like a car drive in) thing. Also today watched Ghostbusters. I really liked the new characters and the new guy too, that was all good!

Ice Age Collision I rated 9.7/10 (but i dunno why they gave it CRAP ratings)

Ghostbusters (7.75 / 10)

Central Intelligence. As I'm biased towards Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson I'd obviously like the movie, but as a spy comedy it can stand on its own pretty well. The rest of the cast is great and the writing is great. 8/10

The last few weeks have been pretty active in regards to seeing movies in the theaters.

A couple weeks ago I saw the new Tarzan movie, surprisingly good. I was a bit skeptical because I thought it was just an "adult" re-telling of the classic Disney cartoon. Come to find out that it actually takes place 8 years after Tarzan leaves the jungle and becomes assimilated into modern society. But something happens that calls him back to the jungle and dealing with the theme of him trying to re-learn jungle survival. I thought it was a very cool thematic idea and feel like they really should have emphasized that in the marketing. The largest critique I would have about the movie is that the villain is from Belgium, yet he has a British accent (like most Hollywood movies) 7/10

Then last week, we saw a double feature at our local Drive-In theater. The first movie was Life of Pets. I thought it was a pretty clever movie, though it suffered from the same problem of most comedy movies, all the funny bits being showcased in the previews. Also a lot of the twists were pretty predictable, but that is somewhat expected in a kid's movie. Overall, I was pretty entertained. 6.5/10

Last but not least, was also Central Intelligence. The previews left me a little bit skeptical, but came away laughing hysterically. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart make a surprisingly good duo. And it was pretty amusing to see Dwayne in such a "goofy" role. 8/10

How much of the screen time do the battles take ? That was my problem in first post. I recently watched extended cuts of both LOTR and Hobbit, and if it is more than 15 seconds of large human and orc battles it is too much for me, I'm tired of those

They are surprisingly not that long nor that large. The movie itself is currently only 2 hours long, though the director mentioned that he wants to make a Director's Cut version with 40 min footage that was cut. But even those minutes were not fight scenes.

In a way, the battles are more a background to the character drama.
