Most characters seems to lack of any real characterisation or personality for the most part, apart from maybe Batman, which was i think positive thing of the movie.

Action was done very nicely too.

But other than that...dunno, i just feel like DC is getting totally overboard with all the darkness, depression and what not.

Dunno, liked some moments, but overall, just feel rather dissapointed with the movie.
That movieseems to be doing everything it can to make not want to like it, and yet I still have an urge to see it at some point.

I'm in the same boat. Batman is my favorite superhero by far (okay, Deadpool comes close). But this movie just looks soo... meh. I really wish a Batman movie would come out that would focus on the detective side of Batman, but that is a high hope. Part of why I am looking forward to Telltale's rendition of Batman.

But yeah, BvS looks like Shite (c).

Well, action is still nicely done and batman himself is rather ok-ish done; it's a little different take on batman, but i don't think a bad one. But everything else is...mah. Especially Superman himself, i just can't get over it how dark, serious and depressing they made him look in last 2 movies....

My problem with it is that Superman is supposed to be the light in the dark, not another Batman. Plus it looks like there are around 90 minutes of movie that need to be chopped off. Also, no one on set appears to know how to light a set. I want to be able to SEE what is going on.

Yeah, same, that's exactly what bothers me already from Man of Steel. He's pretty much opposite of what superman should kinda stand for or rather, in what way does he usually appear. But here, he's just yet another batman indeed.

I watched BvS a while ago, but I don't get why a lot of people didn't like it, but to me it was alright, but not great but it wasn't bad. The critics/ratings for it was really bad.. My friends however (one of them) loved it though. I also wouldnt mind watching the New Captain America Civil War some time soon...

Star Trek Beyond - 8/10

Not as good as the 2009 reboot (I gave that a 9), but still very fun and entertaining.

DO NOT SEE IN 3D!!! They do absolutely NOTHING to utilize the technology.

Some movies use it better than others.

Beyond used it the least I have ever seen. It might as well have been in 2d, but they wanted to steal my money.

Basically this. Even the best 3D movies simply fail to impress me, it's not something so revolutionary that it should stick around. However, some movies (like action movies) certainly benefit from being played at 48 frames per second. It's something I immediately noticed during the first Hobbit movie despite not having any prior knowledge of the movie using it.

As a person I know once said it: It's a sad world we live in when 60fps movies are nonexistent and compared to really bad old soap operas, like The Hobbit was with 48fps. Then that person recommended me the Smooth Video Project (SVP), which uses a framesmoothing method similar to modern TVs to smooth out videos you play on your PC. Since seeing a movie in 60fps, I just couldn't go back, it was just so beautiful.

This is why I no longer go to cinemas. They were always too expensive, very dirty and so loud that I almost gone deaf once (when watching Star Wars ep2, those sonic bombs were REALLY loud). Now, I just wait for the Bluray release, get that, then watch it on my PC or our 3DTV (not that 3D really does anything to a movie), smoothed to beautiful 60fps. It's a thing when I have better quality at home than in places specifically designed to watching movies.

60fps? Wow... Anyway I stick with "the cinema is truth twenty-four times per second"

Just watched Star trek beyond last night. At least i personally find it to be really good movie. Of course some could argue that it could be more "star trek-ish" and less actiony BUT, i think it was for sure better than previous two movies. 8/10.

Oh btw, i do have to agree with solais on one thing. I haven't gone to cinema in a long time now, and when i finally did yesterday, my ears actually hurt a bit from such a high volume.

I just saw "Vertigo" (Alfred Hitchcock, 1958). A masterpiece: 10/10.

Same here, I always take my earplugs with me whenever I go to the cinema. I've tried complaining about the awful volume at our local cinema but they seem to not care.

Well, the way movies are made, doesn't help either....some scenes are so damn low on volume by default, so the cinema has to keep certain volume, but then the actiony scenes in movies, on ther other hand, are so damn loud, that it's probably really hard to set proper volume for movie, i'd guess so anyway.

Except the dialog here is also really fucking loud, making the SFX and music even louder. Besides, it's easy enough for cinemas to put compression between the input source and the output to normalize the volume levels all across and then bring the volume back to acceptable levels. The audio quality will be degraded, but we don't go to cinemas for the spectacular audio anyway so I don't consider it much of a loss. Until they do I'll bring my trusty earplugs.

Jason Bourne - 6/10

I lost interest after the third one, but the nephews wanted to see it. I wasn't terribly impressed.

Interesting, considering the spectacular surround sound is precisely 1 of 2 reasons why I bother going to a movie theater

Well yes, but compressing/normalizing the volume has no effect on the surround sound, so that's not really my issue here.

Also, what's the other reason? Cinema tuggie?

Triple 9
7.5/10

Some great actors/acting.
Good directing.
OK dialog and plot.

If you want a good action movie thats been done before (mindless kinda fun), then give it a watch.

Oops, you caught me red handed. *shifty eyes* I find that interesting, because I have never found the sound to be too loud. I don't think I've ever seen anyone wear earplugs either, maybe it's a European thing On the other hand, I do prefer to watch movies on the loud end of the spectrum.

In other news, I did watch the new Ghostbusters last weekend. I thought it was "good", but not exactly "great." I think what I enjoyed most was all the cameos and nods to the classic Ghostbusters movie, so that may be a bit telling of the movie's quality. I mean, the story was decently good and there were actually some legitimately scary parts, which was a surprise. I think the biggest turn-off for me is that I'm not a big fan of any of the actresses (inb4 sexist). I get how people might find them funny, but for me it seems like they just try too hard to be funny. I really liked Melissa McCarthy in the TV show, Mike and Molly, but I dunno, I haven't found any other roles she's played to be particularly funny.
