I actually have some ideas for Ghostbuster weapon:

1. The Ghostbuster as alternative firemode;
One of the things I have in my head was that the GB is alternative firemode for some new version of the Laser gun, with some shor weapon animation, while switching between the two firemodes. The two weapons share same kind of ammo, so there will be good to have another fire mode, limited in range, but delivering much more DPS. The cons are that this way actually the weapon turns into a copy of UT's Pulse Gun/Link Gun.

2. The Ghostbuster as separate weapon, with two (or more) firemodes.
Primary mode - Lightning gun - standard , quick-spending the ammo and limited in range, firemode with constant lightning beam (as above).;
Secondary mode - Thunderbolt - Charged shot. It requires some time to charge the power required, but once charged it can deliver a long range shot, with chain-lightning effect on nearby targets. Beware of overcharge (self-damage and short in time shock effect)

Pretty good idea there, though I kinda doubt we will even see an alt fire mode until the proposed Serious Sam 2 Reboot. I can imagine it in Serious Sam 4, but then again, I kinda doubt it.

I would image what will happen if the ghost-buster got used underwater ... I like the idea of the chain-shot though (or something like a shock effect where it attacks nearby enemies within range)..

In underwater will discharge, leading to instant-kill, as the owner, and so the nearby targets. As in Quake 1 or Half-Life: OF.

could be great, if the player drags lots of enemies into the water especially if he was invulnerable (with the invulnerability power-up), depending on how many enemies, it could be a deadly weapon.. Though it should slightly lower effectiveness as the range increases / new sector or something. I assume it wouldn't kill the reeban fish or that electric fish.
Actually some of the Serious Sam 4 enemies should have the ability to swim if so, like headman, and maybe a kleer (?) or even a scorpion! It would be funny to see some enemies swim..

I had a dream that I was playing SS4 co-op and we were fighting a boss: a giant khnum-like beast that we fought by alternating between sprinting away from it and firing rockets at it. This makes me think that there should be a boss that is fast and forces you to be mobile at all times. You can't just stand there and launch shit it at, you have to sprint away from it whenever you're not shooting at it. It seems as though this is how fighting a giant monster would work irl.

Me too! Here are some of the things I remember when I dreamed about Serious Sam 4:

1. I was inside a city in nighttime, using a rocket launcher, but the design of that weapon was disappointing (looked a bit like a traditional bazooka). Then, on the top of some large building, I fought a griffon-like alien that served as the final boss of the game.

2. An oil refinery level I played on featured a large, bipedal, scythe-handed sea dragon that served as a middle boss of the game. Was more awesome to hear Undercode being played.

3. I found that some new weapons included sticky bombs, and a railgun.

Some of these could still be nice ideas for the game.

I like the idea of the rail gun and sticky bombs although some kind of grenade would be great like on SS2 like something the player can just throw. The rail gun would have the ability to rip though enemies but the rail gun sounds like a nice weapon. I remember having several dreams about Serious Sam: TSE and all ages ago but forgot a bit of that stuff..

Few years ago I suggested some ideas to CT, which include sci-fi crossbow/railgun weapon "Raptor X". Also cryo gun which frozes the enemies or the surface where the charge impacts, with two firemodes - standart automatic, which shots weak projectiles, with +% slowing effect and charged shot, which deals splash damage, instant frozes smaller enemies or slows much more bigger enemies.

Speaking of Ghostbuster... the lighting or grabbing thing is same as Sirian Mutilator. So, as for SS4 (or SSV), it would be an enhanced version, like include hologram (possible ST EMH Doctor). Also, when walking through desert and loose all weapons, the Mutilator would be something SS wouldn't loose.

I have a more full-fledged idea for a BFG stronger than the SBC Cannon that could also serve as a no-more-Serious-Bomb weapon.

"Sirian Antimatter Cannon"

This heavy energy weapon has twice the power of the SBC Cannon, and can only hold up to three shots. It can wipe out waves of small to medium-sized enemies in a single hit. Now this isn't a DOOM BFG ripoff, this would have to be more unique to stand out.

Antimatter's lame, like all the other fusion energy or whatever in scifi. The SBC works because it's just a seriously big cannon, not even a piece of high-tech like the BFG was.

Anti matter is lame? It releases 100% of it's energy when nuke only releases 4% something. How is that not badass?

Return the Serious Bomb, but without protection for the player. And acts like standard nuke - some charge time after being thrown, which gives the player the chance to quit the range of explosion. Then - flash, shake, big ball of light which fades out and then the shrooms fades in, some burn-wave effect and finally the shockwave effect. Except the damage the shocwave may throw away and even torn the burning enemies. Kind of like in T2's nuke scene.

Both nukes and antimatters are lame because they're just "explosions, but bigger!!!!11!". The cannonball is sheer badassery because it pierces all but the toughest enemies, just like cannonballs in real life (except cannonballs irl bounce a lot more and creates more destruction because cannonballs actually can't explode).

Also, nukes and antimatters only vaporize things completely in an instant, whereas cannonballs turns anything it touches into a messy pile of gibs; just ask any American Civil War soldiers who saw their friends smashed into unrecognizable pieces of meat

I might have already mentioned this a long while back but mods have shown that there is a ton of room for creativity. Croteam could do so much more with the atmosphere in terms of planet hopping and creating unique environments. I wouldn't even mind if they threw in a dream sequence that just has a bunch of crazy stuff going on. The possibilities are endless.

I can understand wanting to create something coherent but they don't have to jump around too much. It seems like there's a lot of missed potential for a really trippy yet beautiful game when everything just constantly takes place in Egypt.

I do recall though that there was a Nuke mode for the cannon a while ago in the code of sdk 1.07 but there could be some enemies that may be resistant to such attacks. For example, Lava gloems are to fire (obviously), but there could be enemies with extra resistance or take no damage like the biomechs towards weaker weapons like pistols. If they were a nuke or whatever kind there should be enemies that are resistant, like to give the player more fun but not entirely the ability just to rip through enemies easily...
