Default THE most important suggestion for SS3

The return of Pinky and his large family. Even if Croteam can't find a way to fit in Pinky in SS3 because there'll be no lizardmen or whatever in SS3, I still want a cameo from somebody like Pinky's aunt's sister-in-law's gynecologist.

I will not buy SS3 if Pinky or somebody he knows or is related to is not in the game. That is my challenge to Croteam.

Here's a rather humorous video of Pinky from FE:

That was Blondie.
and I'm pretty sure "Blondie" is a reference to Duke Nukem.

and since Duke Nukem forever is out, the joke shouldn't be done because then it would be pretty dumb.

and since this is before FE, how can it be a "return of Pinky"?
Plus the joke would mean killing him which would mean you wouldn't end up killing him in FE which has already happened.

It should just be a random miniature enemy with a new name. Someone from Pinky's and Blondie's family. And they better have that creepy voice say "Oh my God, you killed _____" when you kill him.

The most important thing would be to " GIT ' R ' DONE " and then beam that SS3 code in my machine ASAP.

Or...... Nigel. Nigel Thornberry. That is one of the dumbest things I have said, but come on, look at him. Cannot get enough of this Mr. Thornberry!

And at last, the greatest of them all:

Can't get enough of him.
Also, Reptiloids are not expected in Sam 3? Why? They said 'All your favorites from 'The Encounters' and when they said 'Encounters' that includes TSE. I have not seen one TSE enemy yet. Hoping these 2 new gameplay trailer will show one. Zorgs perhaps. I mean, why leave out the Zorgs?
They already scrapped my favorite next to gnaars :C
I'll miss ya Guffy!...

I liked them. That's why there's a lot of them on my levels, and also created two new types.

Seriously now, I hope SS3 wont be like SS2 and Painkiller.

In these games you enter an area/room and you kill some stuff, then next area... in Painkiller it got boring pretty soon, in SS2 you had humor and creative enemy and environment design to compensate.

In SS1 it was a bit different... there were closed doors, "buttons" you had to find and press.
You were always searching for mask, statues and stuff during the game to get to the next area. Even though it doesn't look like much it does add a bit to the overall gameplay.

I played DN 3D recently, and it was kind of fun to search for something and not just shoot at stuff all the time.

This is my suggestion.

AntonioR i agree 100% with you. That is the main reason I didn't like Painkiller and SS2. There is no game with multiple path to follow it's always straight line, but real game designers know how to make it not that obvious that is that straight line.

Actually, I myself think that SS1 is straight as hell compared to Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. The only not straightforward thing in the games are the secrets, what mostly needs exploration. (My maps are structured like that as well).

However, Duke 3D reminded me some things, maybe I'll use that knowledge for my future levels. (Hmm button combinations...)

umm Tony, SS1 is the exact same as SS2,NE,DOOM, and DN3D. they are all about throwing tons and tons of enemies at you and going from room to room with "obstacles" such as objectives(keycards, collect this/that) or ofcourse enemies to prevent you from getting there effortlessly.

SS1 compared to DN 3D does look linear, but SS2 and Painkiller bring the term "linear" to a whole new level. I hope SS3 won't go in that direction.

@Godzilla: I don't remember any "secondary objectives" in Painkiller ? It was just shooting stuff, and OMG there were only 2-3 enemy types. In SS2 you had to put a box on a switch in the first level, and I think that was it.

However in SS1, there were always some masks and stuff. I don't mean SS3 level design should be "complex" like DN 3D, but few closed doors and some switches and keys to find wouldn't hurt. What is more old school than that ?

Actually, not really, in a way, Doom and especially DN3D is a lot "advanced" than SS. Dn3D had keycards, entire labyrinths of levels, backtracking, and actually a pretty small number of kinda strong-ish enemies. Same for Doom. SS1 is more like its own style in the genre, it's linear, but not that linear, and it has entire armies of weak enemies, instead of the few stronger ones.
Actually I'd be really positively surprised if I'd see an SS level with the complexity of the Doom and DN3D levels. Either in SS3, or if not, then I make it myself.
