what about maps/mods that need other mods to work?

My (only) map for SS3 requires solaises resources to work.

As said on the Chatbox yesterday, don't upload any maps that uses my resources yet. I'm having trouble uploading the resources right now due to its size and I'm working on finalizing it to cut down the size. If everything goes right, I can manage to do it in 1-2 days, and so you can upload the maps. Of course you should mention that the maps are dependent on my Resources pack.

A new update (171000) coming later today will fix/improve the following things related to Workshop uploads:

- Removed duplicate error report when publish operation fails.
- Temporary steam workshop files are now removed both before and after upload (even in a case of error) to be sure that we're not uploading old data.
- Workshop error numbers are now also included into error message when exception occurs.
- Workshop item visibility can be set before uploading. Default is "hidden".
- Updated editor's list control to display DLC items in reddish checkered background and those from used-made .gros in greenish checkered background.
- "Create gro file" command now shows which DLC each file belongs to (for files that are not part of original distribution).
- Workshop item description edit control now properly works in multi-line mode.
- Packages button on upload to Workshop dialog is now located next to package title.
- Uploading to Workshop now shows a progressbar. (Not showing actual progress, just that it is doing something.)

The Steam Workshop have been updated with many new tags for your items, based on the feedback. Now we have 4 categories (Content, Game Mode, Type and Other) and many tags under them. It is advised if you'd update the tags for your items.

However, Steam Workshop doesn't make that process easy. You have to update/reupload your packs to change their tags. You do this by opening the upload window in the editor, click the "Packages" button and select the one already published packs for update. After you updated what you wanted, you click "Upload" and your pack will be updated! EDIT: If you only change the tags there, it only takes a few seconds to update a pack!

Also, some of the test items should be removed, like the Workshop test or Scratch's Flat Test, because they are kinda... well test items. Not very good for anything else. So if anyone reads this who has such test uploaded, it would be great if you removed it. (And I don't mean dragon's Cannon Lasergun, or Mischievous' Test Map, because those are great for content, I'm talking about the things that have no value whatsoever because they were uploaded and created just to test the whole Workshop system.)

Why everytime I click in "Upload content to Steam" the editor freezes and crashes?



NOT EDITED: Nevermind, the editor had a missing file and looks like re-re-re-verifying the game cache (or the tool cache ) got it working.

I'm a modeler, mapper.... 2012 release of a HUGE mod for Serious Sam The First Encounter, called "Serious Sam The Beta Remake Project" or some siminilar names to that... Working on it for 5 months now, with my team consisting of 5 people called "BetaTeam" project needs just some textures to finish here the threat:

So uh, Garry's Mod is now on Workshop and that is basically the copyrighted content galore. So I think it is okay to upload anything with copyrighted content, because Valve doesn't give a ****. The biggest thing to happen would be just a removal of your workshop item, but really, if that would happen they could just shut down the Garry's Mod Workshop completely.

Agreed. If they start removing Workshop items for other games they'd be hypocrites for sure considering all the stuff already out there (not only for Garry's Mod mind you, I have a whole list of copyrighted Skyrim mods too).
