Actually it would be awesome if there would be a prequel to SS3, there's still a lot to tell there. It could be a "How I became the Hero of mankind" story for Sam. And cutting off the legs of Ugh-zan IV.

Read the backstory of SS1, it's found on this very site. SS3 takes place at the end of the Mental-Human War, there's loads of story to tell that happened before SS3.

The military game was never released or even fully developed, so all the assets from it are still new to us. They may as well have been made for SS3. As for re-used assets from FEHD, the only one I know of is the Rocketeer's gun model. Are there more?

What I mean by "new in every sense of the word" is that everything about the game looks and feels new. Enemies and guns have been redesigned, levels are all new and use all new assets, i.e. models, textures, etc. I saw nothing in SS3 that made me think it was copied & pasted from the HD games, barring the Rocketeer's gun which I didn't even notice until someone pointed it out on the forums.

Edit: There are also the multiplayer character models, but those don't matter much in terms of game content. Plus I personally don't care about them.

They also used a lot of sounds from SS2. You can say that the Harpy is from SS2 as well, just with an updated model, as the design is similar and uses the exact same sounds as the SS2 harpy.

I think they could even make something else than Serious Sam for a change. The engine could be used for a lot more I think, and sequels do get old after a while...I think they could also work on something smaller like an expansion pack to SS3: BFE called just "SS3" or something that continues the SE storyline, while working on some alternate project in the background.
Well, I rather have a new Serious Sam game continue the SE storyline, not just an expansion. But I do agree with you on the new game entirely. I am craving something new from Croteam. Serious Sam needs to take a well needed rest, imo.

Rest ? there is a serious sam game once in 6 years he doesnt need rest go make new ss game croteam ;D there is almost no old school fps games in this years and you want to take rest so we must w8 6 more years for new old school game ?-.-

I agree. Serious Sam already took a "well needed rest" after SS2, and with SS3, he's made his big return. If there ever was a time to continue the Serious Sam franchise, now is it. To start a new franchise now is to kill all the momentum Croteam has built up with the success of SS3.

But Croteam's made nothing but Serious Sam so far (well apart from some ancient football games apparently but that doesn't count ). "One hit" studios generally don't last long. And they can't really revolutionize Sam much more than adding better graphics (and bringing back weird gravity - which btw was doable before....), eventually the gameplay concept will start to wear out.

Let them they decide, i love serious sam series and i would like more sam games you can always play the other companie's games.And most of the games got only new graphics enemis and weapons this doesnt rly matters, as long its the same old school shooter

I admit, it's kind of hard to see Croteam doing anything but Serious Sam. I'd like them to continue with it, but if they feel it's time to try something new, then I'm all for it. They'll have my pre-order all the same.

They could go the Blizzard way. Making the same game, just in a different theme. (I'm referring to the Warcraft 2-Starcraft transition there; as Starcraft originally was the same as Warcraft 2, just in space, before they rewrote almost everything.)

Different themes of Serious Sam...didn't those Indie games counts? :p
(Yeah, I know they're not made by Croteam but at least they're different from FPS one.)

Maybe something like...you're still play as Serious Sam, but this time he using ancient/magical weapons......uh, it sounds not a good idea I guess... :\

If Croteam want to do not-Serious Sam games, that would be interesting but I may not try it unless the new game is amusing me.

Oh, there sure can be a prequel to SS3, what about the period between the start of the war when humans went to check out Sirius, and the part where they already reached Earth in SS3? They sure can make a game during the battles that pushed the people back from all the space colonies they had back to our own Solar system.

i found out all about the weapons in ss 2, there were 3 cut weapons from ss 2, the "KUBURA" the "Voodoo Gnaar" and the "Beam Gun"

1.KUBURA - is an old croatian/turckish pistol, here the first ss 2 screenshot ever, which shows sam with a kubura, the screen was actually a artwork, because the game didn't had such graphicks:

now the weapon which flying kleer had in ss 2

after that they had cut the big barrel and put a iron sign, but left the hud icon unchanged, after that they had cut the iron sign and did a complete new weapon, the 2x shotgun:

The KUBURA basicly was an very, very early version of the 2x shotgun from ss 2 as i have a prove, whach ss 2 E3's and you will see that the hud on the 2x shotgun, shows the KUBURA

2. Voodoo Gnaar- the Voodoo Gnaar was an joke weapon, it's unknown what exactly was it purpose, maybe instant killing enemies (gnaars) or something like that, the Voodoo Gnaars model can be found in SS 2 files by another name, it looks like a naar doll withouth an eye with a wooden stick placed in the Gnaar's...khhmmm, private place also it's hud icon exists

3.Beam Gun - all of it's files are in the game, the sounds were,

1.beam starting sound

2.beam sound

3.beam impact

the beam gun fired a blue continious beam, it used plasma as weapon

That is a stupid and pointless reason, Kazuya. Put it on the wiki. If they want information regarding this, that is the most logical location. Make a stub if you have to.

I think the wiki would appreciate these additions with pictures and how to access them, if it isn't there already. Why not take some time from your day to do that? It's good to add to wikis.

Well not necessarily. You could add an extra page, one per weapon and add it to the SS2 weapons category.
