Default Idea about a new Way of Editing .ep & .cb

I have an interesting idea, maybe this could be helpful for SED1/3/3.5/4 too, shouldn't it be possible to edit .ep & .cp files with a Text Editor?

Replace .ep & .cp with same counterparts of the other Serious editors

I need programmers views too.

With the Help of Linux Mint i managed to find out that .ep files are Binary files.

But isn't there a way to edit these files with Editors like Notepad++ too?

They're binary files, so no notepad++ for you

I know Spoon made a .Net library for SE2 and I made one for 3 and 3.5 as well, it's somewhere on my PC..
