Fileplanet is offering a few full version games for a free download as well. These games, unlike C&C are ad-sponsored.

Available titles:
The ones from Fileplanet are ad-supported which kinda sucks, but hey, they're free! Anyone who has not played Prince of Persia: Sands of Time needs to download it ASAP, you'll kick yourself for not playing it sooner.

EDIT: Crap! I wanted to download Far Cry, but it seems that you have to join Fileplanet and they don't have a free membership level
Oh well, C&C gold is still free if any of you still don't have it.

Edit yet again: I found the free membership. They hide it pretty well don't they?

It's cool that EA is giving away C&C. I just wish their site wasn't getting rapped right now.

Someone really needs to make a Torrent of this....

Wow, that's a nice deal. Too bad about the ads, though. If it were ad-free, I'd give PoP a try.

Mmm...meee wants. I hope they're not US-only because three of those titles sound really interesting, and I don't own any of them yet

Does "ad-supported" mean that they include spyware? I hope not- I can stand ingame ads, but spyware which scans your comp would go too far...also, what will happen to the commercial versions of PoP: SoT, FC and RRR etc? Shouldn't they make them free or something or add a download link to the package?

Nahh, that wouldn't be good for business. But it'd still be nice to let the customers know that they can download 'em for free too.

Ummm, yes they do. You should be able to click on login and it will take you to a page to register or login.

They have free membership, but I wouldn't doubt that you need to be a paying member in order to download those games.

I just checked. You can download it but there is a wait if the free servers are full. Right now there is a 45 minute wait to download FarCry because it just became available and lots of people are hitting the servers. If you pay, you get a no-wait server.

In what way are they ad-supported? Like theirs one on the installer? On the in-game menus? Better not be in-game or adware.

I know I've preached before, but you really should play PoP, it's awesome. Just make sure you read how combat works properly though so you know how to dispatch enemies quickly using the dagger combo thing.

Nadeo released TrackMania Nations partly as a promotion for the Electronic Sports World Cup, and also for TrackMania itself. This free, stand-alone game has one new environment, Stadium, and many features also in Sunrise, including the advertisement panels, which show ads from sponsors streamed from the internet. The game contains 100 single player tracks, the earlier ones relatively simple in both design and gameplay, but it is largely pitched as an online game.

I've read on other forums that, at least in Raving Rabids, the only ads are McDonalds ads on the loading screens. Somone also mentioned that they are shown a ~15 second commercial every once in a while at loading. I'm still downloading so I haven't seen anything first hand, though...

Well, I just played a little bit of Rayman Raving Rabbids for the first time. The game seems pretty fun, but the ads are going to drive me crazy. There are a few ads sitting around all the menus, which is fine, but the real kicker is that every time you finish a challenge (win or lose), you have to sit through the same McDonalds commercial... over and over and over.....

Hopefully Far Cry's ads are less annoying than this.

Well, I hope the ads are just .avi files which can be deleted if you don't like them.

All the games use McD adds and I'm sure they are all the same. I can't ****ing stand them. too anoying. I'll just play the 9.99 to get PoP ^^

[edit]
From the file names it seems like the ADs are downloaded into the system so they can change at some point. Right now I'm only getting McD ads but there's already graphics for Jeep, Dell, and a few others

After playing Rayman for 30 minutes, the commercial almost drove me crazy. "Uh, when it comes to videogames, there's no shortage of competition... at the toy store. blah blah blah. Dollar menunaire."

Hey guys, I'm bumping this because there's an easy way to remove the ads from Far Cry. It doesn't work with Rayman, and I haven't tried PoP yet, but I do know it works for Far Cry.

All you have to do is run Fraps (http://www.fraps.com, the demo version is fine) while you play, and the ads disappear. I can't explain it, but I can tell you that it works. I had it displaying my FPS, but I don't know if it has to. You might be able to disable everything and just have it running in your tray.

Anyways, so I've been playing Rayman... it's pretty funny. But there's one game (I think it was called Bunnies have a poor grasp of Anatomy) that's impossible. I'm supposed to get 700 points, but the highest I've gotten is maybe 635. I decided to add up the individual columns of points, and they added up to somewhere around 780. Wonderful :|

Oh, right, I remember that one. It's the most annoying mini-game in the entire game.

Is it normal that they're subtracting over 100 points from my score and demanding that I get probably at least 99% accuracy on each part? Or is it a bug?

Not sure if it's a bug or not, but I do remember trying that mini-game many many times, and I don't think I ever got the required score...

When I had it for the Wii I decided I was gonna play it as much as I could one night when I came back drunk and if I still didn't like it it was going back the next day to be swapped for something else. I got to some game where I was on a beach and I think there were coloured pianos in the corners and I had to go up to guys and hit them or something. I can't remember how it worked but it sent me over the edge cos I was supposed to swing the Wiimote to get Rayman to hit them and despite me flailing my arms all over the place he'd hardly ever hit them when I wanted him to.
