So finally Croteam has nothing to say?

The mod looks great specially weapons.
About the music I think It will be cool. I know Neurological. He made music of Eternal Damnation Postal 2 mod (which after i did a doom mod and it uses his music too).

GJ!

Doom, heavily powered by the new upgraded sourceports, that add OpenGL, floors on top of others and quake stuff.

Thanks for the comments guys, we are doing our best even if we have to admit that we had a little break since the start of the school and stuff like that

I would also like to ask if there's any possibility for you to include the GBA Egypt and Rome campaigns in your game? They would most certainly add a good appeal for fans, plus they have interesting mechanics and their own curious batch of enemies.

It would certainly be blast to have both GBA and NE available to the fans, and the Retro Encounter seems like the perfect medium for the former

Best of luck guys!

PS: Expect more news on the Next Encounter remake soon!
You accidentally the name in the quote tag...

Fast announcement:
Serious Sam: The Retro Encounter is no longer Freeware,it has been developed into a full standalone game, and it will be sold for 59.99$ on the Steam store.
Additionally, there's an ingame store where you can buy skins, decals and you can buy
"weapon licenses".
A weapon license will make you always spawn with the chosen weapon in deathmatch.
If you buy a Cannon license, for example, you'll have it every time you spawn in a match.
Weapon licenses are only avaiable for a week, after that you'll have to buy one again.

Yes, because we are too lazy to check an equivalent of the price in euros.

The mod is being completely rebooted, fixing what was wrong with the old one.
Here's the major improvements list:

*Weapons from sam 3 with reload and iron sights, grenade launcher and tommygun from samhd (tommygun with reload and iron sights too!)
*Totally new weapons (you'll see it in the next trailer)
*A better story that will be revealed later
*Less doom enemies, more sam enemies
*Survival maps, deathmatch maps, co-op only maps and a totally new gamemode planned.

Yes, it needs doom, because even if it's a total conversion, some materials are needed.

If you don't have it, you can buy it here:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/23..._7_7_151_150_1

Or you could try running the mod with the FreeDoom wad (which is unsupported, but you could try. Some sprites might look different)

Sigh.
Just release what you have already.
So we can play, while you 'reboot' it.

Well, the old levels aren't really playable, they lack of balance and detail, and they are also very short.

Right now i've taken the full administration over the project, since Duke_nume is now working on his old mod.
Most of the maps released for the beta will be remastered for the new retro encounter, while the maps that will not make it may end up being released as an extra.

Right now i've fixed the weapon switch: now it's 2x faster, so it allows doing fast switches.

For now, here's something to keep the new stuff hot until the new trailer comes out:
http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/3525/guesstheweapon2.png

Guess the new weapon! You have to tell me the exact name, if you guess it i'll post the uncensored screen and give some info.
