If i ever get a job it's probably not gonna be in any fast food restaurant because of the risk of burning my hands like my friend did like 100 times, so he quit.

True, but not enough people actually put the effort into actually pursuing dream jobs, which is sad.

Wait, why has this thread turned into job discussions, this isn't linkedin

Here it is all about your degree rather than what your abilities are (ofc they also do count) hence most can't work in their dream job
The one I have right now is not enough for Programming, Game Development, meh, even Level Design (in Germany), although I know how to do a "proper" Level + Gameplay, I just need to get used to the certain program "they" would use

Kinda the same over here regarding other jobs, and sometimes even having a degree is not enough.

Not for gamedev stuff however, as such thing doesn't really exists, nor are there any degrees for that. My job is actually registered as "programming", because "Game design" or anything like that doesn't exists in the job database.

I am thinking about getting a job in the game industry but mainly for graphics and model design for it. Games design isn't entirely something; but they are subtypes like programming, etc... So I am looking to do stuff like graphic design that includes level design so I am doing a degree..

I think to be a game designer, you need to be good at programming. Kojima and Romero are all about design, but they have their roots in programming.

I have a degree in history. It's useless to me and I wish I had done something else.

A game designer is basically someone who's adept in all, but master of none. Doesn't need to come from programming (I mean, I'm an example ), in fact, often they come from QA, as they need to be aware of the connections between tech and art, what makes a game entertaining, psychology, pedagogy, communication, etc. Here's a good video about it.

I have no degrees related to programming or general IT either, I have a bachelor in "Pedagogy and English Linguistics" and a master in Education.

WHAT? REALLY? But... Why you said that?
In my case I love it. Since childhood I always read things about history.

Wow, anyway you have some facility in it, isn't it? Because in my case, although I manage quite well on fixing systems and stuff, I can't create a single room in the SE.

Before deciding to study history, I thought about doing something like that but... After all, so I can see in the video, seems to be that it's a bit sacrificed... They play not very much (and what I want is play, it's what I like) and it takes time and patience that I won't have, although I would like to do some things as maps or some simple stuff, but only as a hobby.

Romero is both an artist and a programmer, so there's that. Either way, one needs to be skilled in one of these aspects to be a game designer.

Anyway, assuming SSO and SS4 came out on the same day; which one would you guys play and finish first?

You should have phrased it like: "If Serious Sam 4 and Serious Sam Origins were released on the same day, how long would it take you to download Serious Sam 4?

That actually raises a good solution. If they were released on the same day I would use the time it takes to download Sam4 to play Origins.

I'd only get to play it for 5 minutes
