Having some problems with map performance

Map is like to going from 60 to 3 -5 fps while playing. I'm figuring out how to make it working better. This is an early build of The Aqueduct, and I'm planning to put there even more entities.

As every post need to have an image, look at this creation that I have made with photoshop.

You can ask for some people to turn some brushes into model holders, it will work a lot better

Very nice !! And very true, I know that the game renders polygons on model holders like 100 times better. But don't use it for terrains or complex geometry because of collision.

Performance 66%ish fixed

Stupdio I didn't understand the power of sectors! Splitted map into some sectors helped much with the performance! Now it's playable and only at the begining are some lower fps

Well you're kinda right but that's still fixable. You can make a complex modelholder2 and make it with no collision and make your own collision with a brush with less complex geometries

Making The Aqueduct less realistic as I wanted to


Unfortunately, making The Aqueduct trials so long I feel laggy so I can't make it like the real ones

Instead of that, I'm going to make a short path with wall at the end

I'm a little bit scared because I planned that the second level will have as open world as Aqueduct and have more details so there will be even more lags

Gonna send new screens tomorrow!

Very nice aqueducts and pictures so far though that looks like lots of polygons. I have a level that has tons of polygons like that but the framerate is still good, make sure you make good use of pretenders, and occluders and other optimization techniques.

@Post593, that looks amazing, love the green lighting on towers. to optimize the level you gotta try to turn the archs into model and make a single long invisible wall as a collision to reduce as much as possible the amount of calculated polygons, that would help a lot
